I want to know why so many here can't give the team time to rebuild. I see so many FIRE MAYO CUT POLK in messages i don't get it.

Mayo has had 7 games that is just his. it takes time to get a system and culture settled in.
People that are complaing about the D the team lost it's best runstopper to blood clots. a leading line backer to injury and good safety to stupidity.
They have not had the same OL in any game this year. Lost the anchor and veteran presence in Andrews
Even the most optimistic fan, which i am, thought this team would cap out at like 9 wins at most and that is with everything going nearly perfect.

So maybe we can just stop with the doom and try some positivity and yes the team is bad but we have a good young QB a good Young CB a WR core that has a lot of potential. So lets try that.

Okay.
I'm positive this sucks

All kidding aside I wish you good fortune in the wars to come. I can appreciate where you're coming from, the constant *****ing is getting tiresome.

The team has to be trending up or trending down. They're trending down.

Now, if they were disciplined (on and off the field) and they were keeping teams close but still losing despite playing near-mistake free ball, there would be optimism. The team is losing, as expected but they look like a rudderless ship with no path forward. They don't do anything well.

I would have patience if I had a little sense that this coaching staff knows what they are doing! Honestly I don’t care about losing games but this team look like headless chicken running around!

I wasn't a fan of the Mayo hire to begin with and he has done jack **** through seven games to make me change my mind. The **** he says in press conferences is not helpful to anyone in any way. He doesn't need to be BB up there grunting and smacking his lips while saying nothing. But he needs to say much less than he does.

Maybe he is naturally a person who speaks before he thinks or he is going out of his way to be the antithesis of BB. Either way it's terrible. In game adjustments or lack thereof, suck thus far. The defense is getting worse by the week and there is absolutely zero discipline on this team. That goes for both on and off the field.

I liked Polk all pre season. I still think he will be a good receiver. But he has a severe case of the drops and diarrhea of the mouth. And they definitely should not be putting him in positions to have to make key plays in the game.

And rebuilding is a bit of BS our defense yes it's missing some key parts but straight up missing your run fits is coaching. This defense was supposed to be the backbone of the team. Washington and Chicago were terrible last year too. There are teams every season that do 180's, this team should be 4-3 but because they are completely undisciplined in all three phases of the game and have been completely out coached they are 1-6.

Hard to be positive about anything that is happening right now outside of Maye and that we are probably looking at a top 3 pick again to help us get another potential franchise player.

Last season I was all in on tanking because we needed a QB. This team should be better than it is and that is frustrating.

I’m pissed Mayo and the other coaches did not accurately predict all the defensive injuries / pseudo suspensions the team has had. Unacceptable!

But seriously…people these days are programmed for instant gratification ie drive through McDonald’s. Add to that the social media snowflakes and this is where we are.

Many here expected tough growing pains this season. The polls taken here were indicative of that… yet when it actually happens…panic. People have less patience these days.

I expected this to be a rough year. It is unfolding exactly that.

What is a bonus is Maye getting serious playing time and it isn't even Halloween yet.

His development has been accelerated which is excellent.

I don't think it's about patience but more about the ineptness and looking like a high school team when your QB plays lights out and leave apart HHenry and Boutte and to certain extent the Oline, everyone else wets the bed including the coaches.

At this point of time, there needs to be course correction in terms of game plan, media availability, the way we communicate and the play time for various players. There has to be a method to madness.

We need to identify the core and that means sometimes you bench players who are high on potential but go rogue with their game time changes. That goes for keon white , players who did not obey team curfew or had food they weren't supposed to, playing video games into wee hours of game , too much instagramming etc. send a message. If players fumble, sit them a game even if it costs you a game. Can't have players playing for individual glory. For mayo to retain his job , he needs to retain control .

For folks to get some optimism , I think either Mayo has to talk less or say the right things.

I don't know Zuma. I am usually as positive as they come on here. But this coaching staff has me beyond pissed off. Yes, injuries have hurt us and knucklehead off the field. But tackling has been atrocious across the board by anyone that steps on the field. Missed assignments have been the norm not the outlier. The players need to own it but the coaches need to as well

Van Pelt has been awful. Outside of Patricia I have always liked our Offensive coordinators well since the BB era began. But Van Pelt has me nearing NEM levels of pissed off at him. Just zero lack of innovation. I'm not there with Covington yet, but I think it's clear after seven games Steve was more than just a nepotism place holder.

I expected this team to be a 5-7 win team. And I think with a better coaching staff they would already be nearing five wins. Kraft should of at the very least interviewed someone from outside the organization, if for nothing else but to hear different perspectives and ideas about the roster along with how to move forward. If after that he still thought Mayo was the guy, then so be it.

I thought it was senseless to remove the smartest guy from the room but keep all the people he hired in place. It still makes no sense now, except now we have some tangible results.

I hope I'm wrong and Mayo is part of the solution and not part of the problem, I really do. The early returns thus far suggest the latter.

I’m still waiting to hear why Mayo was not only deserving to be a HC, but what he could possibly bring to the table X’s and O’s wise.

And the excuses are getting out of hand specifically on defense. There’s always an excuse of some injury or unfortunate circumstance when they continually get bullied by competent teams. They haven’t been good for years and it’s absolutely mind boggling posters think they’d be as good or better with Mayo. Just comical. Lastly, they’ve spent a lot of money on their own players and they are worse.

Mayo will be one and done if they lose out.

I was fine with a rough year but the team isn’t even competitive in games right now. 4 outta the last 5 games have been non competitive and the one close game was against a 3rd string qb. The hc just called his players soft in a public conference.

Willing to see what goes down over the second half and hopefully they can build some momentum going into 25. Its just hard to see us improving on defense, once they traded judon after we already knew barmore might not play this year you knew they were kinda punting the year but i dont think anyone expected the defense would be this bad.

I'm with ya. We knew coming in a 4-win team was going to be bad. IF we got lucky, maybe we could have got 6 wins. If Barmore, Judon, Bentley and Peppers were all playing and we found a left tackle and had decent health on the O-Line and Maye was ready on Day 1. Obviously, we got pretty damn unlucky, so it went the other way. That's the breaks. We'll be back.

My early take on Mayo in Training camp was that his way of doing things differently than Bill was that he's a "players coach" and there's going to be discipline problems. Personally, my take is that his approach HAS led to undisciplined play and the team is soft. He played 8 years under Belichick and maybe he resented some of the hard days, hard coaching and didn't see it as absolutely necessary? Well, its not working out the way he's been doing things. They make too many fundamental mistakes, too many missed assignments, etc. I don't think Mayo is going to pan out. Reminds me of some of the things Bill said he learned in his 4 years in Cleveland.

There were a lot of posters here who defended all the horrible drafts the last decade and acted like we had a good roster. Maybe it was because they couldn’t admit Bill had lost his fastball for roster building or maybe it was because a lot of fans overvalue their own players. But now that Bill is gone it seems that all of a sudden their eyes are open to how bad this roster truly is.

I expected us to be a picking in the Top 3 Team this season (2025 draft). But, Mayo and this coaching staff sucks (and Wolf isn't off the hook). If by some miracle Maye doesn't get injured this season, then they have the QB. But I don't trust this coaching staff, personnel department, or the owner for that matter to help Maye succeed. I don't understand all of this land of unicorns and fairies love for Mayo (and yes, Bill had to go). Let's admit that RK screwed up and move on. By the way, I've been with this team since Plunkett, so I know disappointment. I've seen horrible coaching and personnel staffs and owners before, so don't tell me I'm out of line!

The zeitgeist is immediate results. if they don't come, pressure builds from everywhere, more so in sports, where scrutiny comes from everywhere

That being said, Im with you man.

This is year 0. Does not count. Seeing how things are going, my thinking is that the whole front office will have the shortest of leashes to show improvement, but if ANY move comes before at least the end of the year, then I will be officially worrried.

"A bad plan is better than no plan at all"

So we have these two rookies from the '24 draft, one of them with the best hands in the NFL (not to mention feet) and the other guaranteed to raise invalids from their wheelchairs, and neither one of them contributing, so I'm not impressed by the personnel guys and/or the coaches.
