It's funny that Cole Strange is considered a savior at a position he's never played as a pro, after the board ragged him as a disappointment for two years.
Cole Strange was a First Rounder and we're Desperate Fam and we might have the real deal in Maye gotta make it comfortable for him. Having a QB who can change the game with one play is someone you build around.

There has to be more to this story than we know, tune into Bertram tomorrow he will have the complete details on this nefarious plot by Mayo to make this team worse..

Fair, but at times he's been good for stretches. Don't care where he was picked at this point, if he can help us he can help us.

We’re also desperate enough right now that I wish they had Calvin Anderson. I believe they would’ve been eligible to re-sign him now, but the Steelers already signed him during the 3 extra weeks that he could sign with any team other than the Pats.

Oh something happened all right:

The coaches saw him actually, like, you know, play…
So, who is the next center if Brown gets hurt, besides the guy who is currently on the Cardinals practice squad?

@Zuma we have Sow - Jordan and Robinson turnstyle Leverett will not be missed.

We have Sow, Jordan, and two turnstiles called Robinson and Leverett. Now one turnstile is gone. Thought I would help you get it right.

This ^ is the funniest.

If Strange returns to full strength he is instantly one of our best offensive linemen.... but he's a "bust."

Laughable...

Ben Brown walked in off the Raiders PS and was above JAG level. Why would we want Anderson? Whichever Pats scout identified B Brown should get a $50k bonus and should be told to go find a backup guard. That is way better than retrying retreads.

Assuming Strange is not back shortly.

He's probably not going to justify being a first round pick. But if he becomes a good starting center I'll quit *****ing about the pick. Starting centers are hard to find. He's gotta stay healthy though, need your leader on the field.

David Andrews-UDFA. Ben Brown-UDFA. It's still way too early to say, however, if Brown proves himself to be our Center of not just the present, but also of the future, we should still draft a young Day 1 Starting Caliber Center in the 2025 Draft. Having a capable backup Center is a MUST and this team has largely ignored that fact since Andrews became the Starting Center. That he's been so durable and dependable was no excuse for the team to not have a solid backup for him for quite sometime. Even if they hopefully put together a high quality OL for Maye (including backups), a solid Center is a must for a QB and anchors the rest of the line. Having just one solid Center is risky.

Brown was an honors student so I imagine he picked up the offense basics quickly. Probably also looked good on film. Maybe Hudson is healthy now too.
Some decent overlap from Brown’s earlier stops, too. AVP has worked with the Bengals’ HC and OL coach for Brown’s 2022 (mostly injured) and 2023 training camps and the Raiders’ OC for Brown’s 2024 camp. Also the 2022-23 Bengals’ OC’s dad, if that counts as a valid coaching tree connection.

There’s probably more there too, but man it’s a struggle to try to learn brand new coaching trees this season.
