Greg Bedard: coaching directly to blame for Seattle, Miami losses

Why do you care what Greg Bedard has to say? This is the second "OMG Greg said...!" thread you started.

Turn off the radio, my guy.

It's the third thread from his weekly 98.5 stint and well worth your time if you wish to be insightfully informed. Bedard studies the all-22 and offers objective observations from both that and his sources you won't find elsewhere.

That's two too many. Just make one "Bedard says some crap" thread.

It's worth a weekly synopsis thread, feel free to ignore them. But instead of *****ing, why not watch and learn? Bedard is not a Patriots naysayer yet is brutally honest about what he sees. He gives credit where credit is due.

A nice rss feed or way to aggregate all those/any threads would be nice if it’s not already doable. I’m probably missing something accessing this on a mobile mostly. *cough* admins script something up yo! You’re not busy! Jk.

Anyone providing a shred of honest assessment will sound like a naysayer. For a few years now.

Bedard’s absolutely correct: Lousy clock management & predictable play-calling, especially during the play-not-to-lose 4th quarter, cost us the win vs Seattle; and HORRIBLE clock MIS-management & Dumb-Ass play-calling cost us the win vs Miami.
Yeah, I called the really bad situational football at the end of both halves. 1st and 10 from the 11, you do NOT need to go end zone with long developing plays.

Do you not have anything that can grab you 5 quick yards there?

I agree ... I like to listen to what he has to say.

Making a new thread is fine as Tunes adding more clips will just get lost in the original thread.

If you just listened to what he says you wouldn't feel this way. He simply tells it like it is, which unfortunately hasn't been too great into a third-straight season.

He's doing well right now. He was actually a little too upbeat on Mayo.

But he was way too negative when they were winning, to the point where he was admitting in columns that he should no longer criticize BB because he (Bedard) was always proven wrong.

Bedard is one of the best out there for original takes.

I listen to his Patriots podcast with Nick Cattles. Only time I listen to Felger and Mazz is on Tuesdays 2:00 to 4:00.

Like a delayed QB draw for example… I wouldn’t have been happy with two straight handoffs behind Leverett either; but dam how about pulling something out of your end of game, gotta-have-it playbook, ass-uming they even have one… Very confusing, and frustrating.

I have listened, past tense. We will disagree on this one, brother.

There were some coaching errors, most concerning was the mental errors, 12 men on the field on 4th down punt return and all the penalties. That points to coaching.

I will say this though, outside of the penalties I thought the defense had a great rebound game and the special teams was pretty good.

I see a mostly well coached team that needs to clamp down on discipline. Stop having so much fun, you’re professionals… do your job. And maybe put that sign back up on the wall.

The Patriots have personnel weaknesses, specifically on the offensive line. That’s a front office problem.

Like Lazar he can provide some really good play breakdowns. He gets bogged down on some of the minutiae because he lacks fundamental knowledge in certain areas. For example, he doesn’t know some pretty basic OL technique/rules, the kind of thing it would seem that a good HS OL coach knows. Having said that, he is willing to study and learn way more than most reporters, though he doesn’t take criticism well. He also has good sources.

Wasn’t JB hit enough? Totally agree on the handoffs though.
