MassLive Patriots columnist Karen Guregian grades all of the position groups, as well as the coaching staff a month into the 2024 season.

Looks about right. Running backs have been a disappointment though especially the fumbling so I would lower that one. QB has to be in the D's, yeah Brissett is a backup and should be judged accordingly but he just hasn't gotten it done even at that bar.

No way QB is a "C-". How can you give it that grade when the QB is on pace for 6.5 passing TD's? It has been an F.

RB get a C+. Gibson has been a solid pickup.

WR's and TE's are about right which is also due to the QB.

OL would be an F is they couldn't run block.

The rest of the grades are about right except coaching which gets an F.

The grades do look a little inflated. I converted the grades to their equivalent numeric scores and it averaged out to a 2.0 or C. I wish this guy was my freshman year Chem professor.

OL: F... the line has failed - blame injuries or whatever - Its just bad.
RB: D ... Based on tds they get an F, yards net them the C, fumbles drop it to D
WR: F ... yeah, moving on
TE: D ... result of the QB/OL play.. could be a C, isnt

DL: D ... limited pass rush
LB: D ... I often ask myself in a rhetorical fashion if we actually have any LBs playing...
DB: C ... do i need to split cb/s here? they are all about the same... Gonzo is rounding out to fine, good on him...

K: C ... 63 yards? impressive slye... what was that **** with the 33 yd chip shot vs miami?
P: A... Our All Pro right here
ST/KR/PR: C decent job so far, considering last year

Coaching: F. If you say otherwise, you haven't been paying attention

Think that adequately describes a 1-4 team, that looks like it won't win another game this season

If you understood football -- which you demonstrably don't -- you'd realize there's this unit called special teams. The only thing here deserving an F across the board is your posting history.

Special teams has been very good even with Slye's miss and Baringer being less than his usual self on Sunday. So much better than it's been the last couple of seasons.

I get giving Brissett an F but tbh what did people expect? He is not a NFL starting QB, we already knew what he's all about going into the season, even Colts fans saw for themselves when he was there that he hangs on to the ball too long and takes the safe throw even when it's the inferior one.

I would say I am pretty much aligned with your grades. Maybe a slight bump up for Joey Sly but that is sadly about it. It is amazing that with all that has gone on since Mac was drafted the offense has gotten worse each year.

The funny thing about reading evaluations about this offense is that one will say "Brisset's not that bad, he has no time and the WRs can't get open", while the next says "the line is actually ok, the QB is seeing ghosts", while another says "the WRs are open, the QB can't get them the ball".

If all three are C's, how is this offense such a clear F?
