Yes and then it is going to take him awhile to get into football shape, so maybe he looks alright in December.
We never know the timeframe for recovery from surgery. With full time professional trainers, Strange should be ready in October, but there is no way to know for sure.

Some opposing fans are stuck in the Dynasty era Pats. Living in the was.

They've heard that the Pats are DOA so many times and got burnt believing it.
They'd even fool us into thinking they couldn't pull it off and yet they would, again and again.

???
You say the rebuild has been ineffectual. I guess that has to do with expectations. If you were expecting a team competing for the playoff THIS year, I agree that the rebuild had been less than expected. However, I think most of us expected a 2-4 year rebuild to coincide with Maye's first contract, with us competing for the playoffs in Year 2, and the division and then deeper in Years 3 and 4.

YEAR ONE
I thought that almost all of us expected 0-4 or 1-3 to start, with the OL taking 1/4 to 1/2 a season to gel, and for Maye to start somewhere in that window. I would say that we are what I expected. The Offense is awful and will be as long as Brissett is starting.

I do expect things out of this year. We need to see where we are on the OL, WR, QB and CB as we develop players at those positions.

And the players and coaches have to learn systems on both side of the ball, obviously much more on of Offense.
=================
MUCH OF THE REBUILDING HAPPENED BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED
1) We re-signed and extended players who the staff considered to be key players in the first week or so of free agency.
(Onwenu, Dugger, Henry, Jennings)
2) We signed 3 free agents to more than one year: Gibson (3) and Takitaki (2).
3) We signed some players to essentially show-me contracts of one year (Hooper, Uche, Hawkins, Slye). Hopefully, they will part of the future.
4) We extended some more of our key players after the initial free agency rush (Stevenson, Andrews, Barmore, Godchaux, Peppers, Tavai)
5) 8 draftees plus Pettus all made the team. The draftees are certainly part of the rebuild.
6) We added a bunch of low-level players, one or two of whom might become future contributors.
Claiming that they don't care if the team wins or loses is how losers think. For them and the Tuckheads, the Cincy win wasn't nearly as enjoyable.

For a number of reasons the Pats new coaching regime inherited a very lousy team, especially on offense. Until they get back on their feet the best thing for them and for us would be wins. It's why the games are played.

I don't think we should count on Strange at all because it took him a while to play well last year after missing the summer. He has missed a lot of football in the past year, so its more realistic to assume that he doesn't have a significant role until next year.
Just shows how bad the function of the line has been literally since the pre season. I've seen post about owenu.. I don't think it's his fault he's been asked to move back and fourth between G/T. becuase the tackle spots have been bad.

The more realistic thing may be to have Sow at LG, lowe at LT, owenu at RG, of course Andrews at C and Wallace at RT.

If we can stick with that line up for at least 5 games we could have some cohesion and possibly better play.

I really hope that I am the wrongest I have ever been. I also find it somewhat interesting that they have yet to use the OL they initially wanted due to injuries.

Lowe-sow-andrew-owenu-chuks

now with Chuks gone maybe Wallace can step up, but Big Mike needs to go back to RG
Your line up projection was pretty much identical with mines. Save for chuks as he's not with the team. So Wallace needs to just hone in and focus on the RT spot.

Strange had a torn patella tendon last December. It is a 9 month recovery like an ACL which means the timetable is the end of September. So Strange should be close to a return after game 5 for game 6 (mid-October). Mayo said Strange was in the facility every day in rehab and meetings.
The same with Barmore as he's been part of team meetings and has been training. He just can't play as he's on thinner medicine.

I just don't think there has been much evidence that Strange will amount to much. even when he has been healthy. We certainly should give him another try, but I don't recall any basis in fact to expect it to go very well. Maybe my memory just blows.

Bite me. Questions?

Hopefully you'll feel lucky after the game too. It could get ugly.

Very well could. Pretty or ugly ill always look forward to watching them though!

Hopefully not down by two scores the kiss of death for Patriots Teams post Brady.

Even with all the missing players on 9ners.. it's probably still going to be a dog fight. Teams get pressure just rushing 4..

I'm excited to see another 98 yards passing game from Brissette. Weiiiiei!!!!

You mean 1 score! Bow&arrow man can't hit open guys.
I was being kind.

PF2 my guy.. I just really come the conclusion this is Drake team.. we aren't gaining anything playing Brissett. Even scarr.. has come around saying we need to see Drake playing.

Link please...the sit him now crowd are probably crapping their Pants hearing that from the Great Scar.

No need to worry about he adverse effects of the shortened pre-season. The Pats' preseason is gonna last all year. Truth be told, that might be just what is needed. We ain't ready for the "real games."

I'm not kidding, though maybe i should be.

Probably the best way to keep expectations in check, honestly.

Thought I'd also add breer is on zolak and Bertrand this morning said that AVP installed some UNC offense in the playbook for Drake.

Nice: well we know they have a better view of what we all know now and to those late to the party Brissett sucks.
