Who's defending the failed attempts? We all saw the same things. Ridley decided that he's better off catching passes from Levis than Brissett.. ayuik chose to remain in SF.. I'm looking at it realistically.. who's coming here right now? We are the dam near bottom ranked offense.. 31st.. Brissett is Bailey Jones minus the INTS. Things will not change until we get our franchise QB under center and he can have more than mop up duties to move the offense.

So there were zero free agents available besides Ridley and zero players available for trade that could have made that team you watched Thursday better?
We have the worst offense because we didn’t do anything to improve it.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks we're signing a true WR1 with Brissett throwing the rock is insane.

Why does everyone respond to us signing basically no one with “impact players”. There were dozens of football players at many positions who would have made this a better team.
We had 60 mill and got Black Mac, Osborne, Gibson and Chunks

It’s the NFL. Injuries happen. This is why 40 million in unspent cap and terrible depth is a problem. Did you expect no one to get injured? Is it good roster building if you can say “we suck but if no one got hurt we would have been better”?

They traded Judon, and after Barmore went out you argued with me the defense would be fine when I said we have problems.

But is it honestly acceptable to you to have a bad defense, blame an injury, and let the team builders off the hook?
Do you think some of that 40 million would have helped overcome injuries?

FWIW I still think the D will be fine. It won't be as good as we hoped but the secondary should keep them competitive.

Hopefully Takitaki and/or Mapu can help the front seven a little. Not sure where the needed pass rush will come from (White can't be the only one).

Now if the offense could do it's part.... Maye can help there if the front office stops being so scared.

Absolutely... some can blame wolf.. but he can't force guys to sign here. The QB makes all the difference.. Brissett is a AVP guy.. that is why he's here. I understand the struggles on the line.. but even when he's had time he's flat out missing guys. There is no attraction.. Drake maye I'll continue to say is our only hope. Once he starts and can get into a groove as the starter we will see the offense flourish.

Wanted TE Tucker Kraft the name alone was a dead give away. Also where's Mapu going to play with with Dugger and Peppers?? I don't see Mapu as a LB a Guard or Tackle would love take him on...Guess who my $$$$ is on??

The problem with the defense was it was built on a strong scheme that utilized role players effectively and covered weaknesses and let strengths come out.
Take away a few pieces, take away the brains, and now you have overmatched role players being exploited. Rodgers was 12/12 outside the pocket and Bedards article says that would never have happened before because the defense played with discipline and now it doesn’t. He wasn’t kind to the new DL and OLB coaches either and said there were grumblings from DL players that this isn’t what we do in camp

It’s a fine line between a game plan, role player defense and one that gets shredded.
On top of that we are paper thin. We used:
Pharms, McMillan, uche, ekuale, Hawkins for over 200 snaps. That’s a huge talent void.

When we went to he bench we got

I don’t remember a time when we gave 5 players of that talent level 200 snaps and had 6 like the second list getting on the field.

Less talent, worse coaching, worse schemes, and an offense that can’t stay on the field is not a good situation.

So you just wanted someone else then.

Yeah I like the idea of him as LB more too.

We are going to see him soon so it will be interesting to see where he plays and what he brings to the table. Way too early for anyone to write him off yet.
