Losing doesn’t really bother me this season and I think we should still start JB for the 49ers. This season has always been about development of Maye and yeah, you could argue that it would have been a good idea to throw him out game 1, but maybe the coaching staff has decided for whatever reason that starting JB is a better decision? We won’t win many games this year but it’s about next year. If JB continues to struggle, start Maye by game 5-7, but not against SF. It won’t be pretty.

Let’s hope next season is better and I think it will be as long as Maye can play at least average.

Losing didn't bother me last season, in fact I was all for it. I saw the writing on the wall and wanted the Pats to have their pick of the QB litter. Then the following season grab the line guys etc. I also though the QB would play week 1 and that the offense would be much, much better.

Instead, Brissett is playing, the line is complete crap due to injury, it's borderline ok when all whole. Because of that I have zero feeling they will win many if any more games even IF Maye plays. Team is so beat up and in transition that it's gonna be a hard road.

At least we won some superbowls. Doesn’t mean anything now because we want to win another one but at least we’ll always have that

After the last 20 years, losing doesn't bother me either. I'm also older now and value other things over football like family/friends and health.

If they win, great! If they don't, it doesn't ruin my day.

It's kind of relaxing anyway not living and dying game by game.. I used to hate losses so much I couldn't sleep that night. Lol

Sundays for years were always a day I cleared my schedule and told my wife and kids to let me be for 3 hours. Lol..

As in Boston in October it gets dark by 6 pm football was the reprieve.. I'm just looking for watchable football. It's a long, grueling season. I still think the team is well coached and they play hard. Injuries are starting to mount and that shows. I don't think the offensive line play allows for AVP to open up the play book. Hopefully they can become more balanced with running and passing.

I am hoping to see improvement after last year. The mental mistakes, penalties and sloppy play were really frustrating. The jets game didn’t meet my expectations on improvement.
They are IMO a well coached team. Last season by week 3 the season was lost. I believe this team is closer to what we saw the last 2 weeks than last night.

Last night was horrific, but the first 2 games if they get back to that level of play was encouraging. Im just not sure what to expect out of our defense anymore . If teams have found something and last nights issues linger, it will be a rough year- probably worse than last . Huge test for the staff.

But to this point, hard to be too upset at 1-2 based on realistic expectations. Most people should have been bracing for a rough year. Theres still alot to be seen the next few weeks and how the team rebounds or doesn’t rebound.

I'm always mad when we lose. This thread makes think everyone is taking crazy pills.

As for me.. I understand the organization has a plan with Maye and it's been playing Brissett. I have to think that for an NFL team the offensive line has to be better than this? As we all have seen it's a double edged sword. The line has not given the time and the QB is limited. Lots of season left.

Agree. Also the playbook is limited due to the line play. We know what Brissett is also. However sometimes you need a game like this. I think of the KC game in 2014.. of course we know that was a championship team. However I believe that the team is closer to what we saw last games than last night. They were embarrassed last night and will have to get better as the season goes along.

I decided well before the first game that I would pay little attention to wins and losses and would value the team's performance based on what progress they are making in developing and evaluating the roster and on how the development of the new team leadership is going.

On that basis, to this point this is a losing team. I suppose the grade would have to be Incomplete, but it's not looking good. If the team were a student, there would be a note going home to the parents.

It was actually kinda excruciating in that sense for me for 20 years. Losses were heavy af and victories nearly always underappreciated outside of the playoffs.

I'd take on all that pressure and sleeplessness right back again in a heartbeat though.

Use to be straight up Veruca Salt with the winning and wanted it all. Post Brady has been an adjustment but sort of learned to just take what you get with each game and the element of surprise.

During all the winning it sometimes felt like looking at each game as just trying to get that weekly checkmark and moving on, and thinking way ahead to what the end of the season would look like.

Have tried to learn to eat **** and like it these last several years. After all, occasionally things go slightly better than expected and you get to eat a piece of corn in it!
