If you're going to lose art least give Maye some experience. If he is such a snowflake that the rigors of the NFL cause him to curl up in the fetal position you draft another QB next draft. Not 1st but keep taking shots until you find a guy who can play.

Jacoby has been on the Colts and Browns and still struggled. Do you mean to tell me that every team that Jacoby plays on doesn't have WRs or OL? Nope. I see Mark Sanchez out there. Jacoby just runs the play called hoping for the best. He never surveys the DL alignment to see where pressure might come from.
When the opponent is rushing five or six on almost every down, the O-line is outnumbered in the gaps. The line has to be better than this and they need to run screens and passes to the flat to their biggest backs and TEs. I would have given them a steady diet of Hooper and Henry right at Sauce Gardner's side all night.

But geez, how can the offensive line be this bad? These kids all played at big schools and should be able to a better job buying a couple of seconds for the QB. There were plays where three DLs converged on Brissette.

They basically fed the TE and RB position before tonight, it wasn't going to continue with tape on them . "We're going to run it until you stop us" was dumb, rookie crap.
Shut up, and do what you think you have to for the win.
Rookie crap.

I went to bed near the end of the 3rd quarter. I could not watch anymore.

The defense was an embarrassment. It is supposed to be good. Something we could count on, but that was terrible. The Jets did whatever they wanted. Missed tackles, wide open receivers, and poor gap discipline. Just a back breaking performance.

The offensive line was also bad. Everyone on the line made mistakes and allowed free rushers. Brisset. Who was not good, had no chance. Wallace wasn't terrible, but he wasn't ready - just like everyone else on the OL.

Brisset was his typical meh, bad, with a couple of good throws. Wish I got to watch Maye.

Coaching was bad this game.

Refs were ridiculous. 2 of the holding calls, 1 on Wallace and 1 on Andrew's were of the wtf variety. That facemask on Stevenson was a joke.

If they play like that. It will be unwatchable. Glad there are no more night games.

I still don't understand why they were so insistent on passing tonight. They can run and that's about it. Then late in the 4th they run when they need to pass and then Rham fumbles.

Also Saleh needs to act like he's been there before. Running onto the field after the fumble was bush league ****.
Teams are stacking the line

This is the sort of BS from experienced posters that detracts from this board.

You know damn well that the Pats were without 2 starters up front. THREE if you count Strange. So, but to B**CH the way you're doing is ridiculous.

Seriously. How the **** is Wolf supposed to know IN MARCH that Sow and Lowe would both be injured and unable to play against the Jets. That Okorafor was going to have personal issues that would cause him to leave the team? You're doing exactly what the f'in CHICKEN LITTLE Brigade does. You're complaining with 20/20 hindsight.

I don't remember what you wanted the Pats to do in the draft, but I was one of the ONLY ones who wanted them to trade down with Minnesota. They could have gotten a QB and a LT and STILL gotten a WR in the 2nd round. I knew there was next to nothing for Free Agents available. Having Bo Nix or Michael Penix with a LT would look a sight better than Drake Maye getting plastered.
Isn't that the point of depth of having backups? If they can't play why are they on the team?

Rodgers has really become a grumpy old man
Probably read the Game Day Thread. Make anyone cranky including Shirley Temple and Mother Teresa.

In Mayo’s press conference after the game, he was asked about if they might make a change at starting QB next week. He didn’t shut it down or say “Jacoby is our guy” like prior weeks. Instead, he said “um - … I don’t know, maybe, we will get together as a staff and look at the film and re-evaluate and go from there”

To me… that means they have already decided the answer and he didn’t want to say it
You can't go back except for injury.

They already lost that argument when Maye came in running the hurry up offense and personally gained over 1/3 of Brissett’s total yards for the game in one drive
Dude. You're acting like an 8 year old with one-drive more yards BS.

And then got a stupid penalty that I could have avoided.
Depends on how much you like Aaron. There are some who probably couldn't avoid hitting him harder.

But yes that was dumb.

****ty night. I got into a car accident (my fault) just to come home and watch a train reck on my TV.

Also stupid to play Maye when the game is lost, have him take so many hits but don't call any timeouts that could have gotten him a TD which would have been a great confidence boost.
Hope you are ok Bro! Have to be careful out there…..!!! Prayers that all is well….and hope not too much damage on car!

Pissed they didn’t let drake go for a td, he looked pretty good and Woulda been neat to see him lead a td on his first drive. Jets im pretty sure still had their starters in.

Ol is historically bad. They gotta look into a way to get onwenu back at rg. Wallace looked ok at LT, others mentioned jacobs can step in at rt. Or switch them whatever.

Agreed …..one of worst OL in Pats history and we have had some horrible OL over the years…

Game was overnight here in the UK so I just watched it "as live" on DAZN (with the adverts removed). Having the adverts pulled means the game only takes 2 hours to watch, which was a relief. On the downside it meant almost no pauses for breath in the Rogers/No 8 ballwashing. It became insufferable pretty quickly and made an utterly abject Pat's performance even worse.

Genuinely think we currently looked nailed on for the 2nd pick as Carolina apart, there surely can't be a worse team in the NFL. There are parts of our team which don't even merit being on a practice squad and they are starting. Yes, we have injuries but we also have a ****ing diabolical roster which isn't being helped by (at times) a coaching staff who are struggling to come up with any answers.

Feels like the first 2 weeks were as good as it's going to get.

ps. maybe it's just me, but I was pissed they didn't call a TO at the end and take a couple of shots into the endzone. We just accepted defeat and walked off.

Three points scored the whole game against the Jets after nearly the entire draft was spent on the offense? You saw this anemic output coming?
All starts with the OL of course and Mayo and Co didn’t do enough to address that….problem is we had issues in a lot of areas and WR was also one of them…I am pretty sure that even if we had MH jr. we still couldn’t move the ball much better because OL sux *** so badly…..I think we have to accept that this is a rebuild year and hopefully in FA and draft we can build a kickass OL and start to compete..

Probably read the Game Day Thread. Make anyone cranky including Shirley Temple and Mother Teresa.
It is the nature of game day threads everywhere. Reactions mirror game action with an extra dose of pessimism or optimism depending on personality.

If that is the consideration, then Mayo was an idiot for putting Maye out there and have him drop back 10 times. Either you get the kid a few snaps of NFL football with the primary aim of running the clock out, or you try to have the kid put up points on the board. But this half-assed way of having Maye drop back 10 times only to run out the lock in the end when they were in position to take a couple of shots at the end zone was utterly pointless.
Yeah Mayo has definitely made some head scratching decisions here already this year…..I think my head is bleeding!

He should be embarrassed he's Terrible I hated the signing.
Honestly you can’t put all this on Brissett…..OL gave him like 2 seconds to pass it and no room to run. Starts with the OL and they sucked horrifically!

Losing while being competitive like last week is fine. You get valuable experience both from young players and the coaching.

Getting dunked on like that? Well you start to wonder how bad everyone is top to bottom.
Pats played well in first 2 games against teams equally as good as Jests…and should have beaten Seattle. Just didn’t have it last night because OL took the night off or whatever…..they weren’t ready
