Limited team with limited time to prepare doesn’t bode well for the Pats.

Jets will lock down our WRs, and with our poor pass protection it is critical to run the ball well. If we are left with 3rd and longs we are cooked. Gotta run and win the turnover battle by a few to have a shot.

Game plan has to be the run - for several reasons:

- The Jets' D is susceptible to it
- They just got pushed by the Titans' run-focused game and will still be a little banged up from that
- The Patriots are a run-oriented team in the first place
- The Patriots' passing attack is not in a great place, and they're not going to fix it on a short week

Having said that, I do also have concerns about giving Stevenson too many carries considering how many he got in the first two weeks already and then doing it again on a short week. I would give Gibson a heavier load and maybe also call up Kevin Harris and/or Terrell Jennings from the practice squad to give them some work and give Stevenson a lower burden.

On the defensive side, I do have my concerns. The pass defense was up and down against Seattle, although I do feel like most of the "down" instances had to do with poor officiating (call me a homer if you want) and one really bad miscommunication. So, perhaps that can turn around but Rodgers gets the ball out very fast so it'll be a challenge. If I was Covington I would just blitz the ever living **** out of Rodgers even if he's beating the blitz and put hits on him. Their OL is not very good and eventually he's going to start getting skittish about that leg... He's not the mobile QB he once was.

One thing I’m noticing with Stevenson is the more he carries, the looser he gets with the ball.

Feels like a matter of time before a game changing fumble

I also felt like he wore down at the end of yesterday. Those runs certainly didn’t look like the ones at the end of the bengals game where he was literally carrying defenders with him in the forward direction. We really need to see that carries per game total to dip below 20.

You also want to see him last the 4 additional years we have just locked him up for without burning out.

It's not being a homer to say that the bogus call on Jon Jones cost us the game.
His coverage was textbook perfect, as it often is. One of the worst calls Ive ever seen.
And yes, that's why the Patriots lost.Call not made, game over.

No, Pats lost because they couldn't stop a blocked FG following a bad sack.

He took some hard hits yesterday.

Jets have a two headed monster @ RB in Hall and Allen they should open things up form Rodgers. It could be a long embracing night.
Only way to win is ball control and AR on the sidelines.. it's going to have to be run, run and pass when you have too... they key is getting the win anyway you can and get out healthy.

Yeah from what ive seen rodgers hasn’t been that bad. But i do like this matchup if we can win the battle up front, his mobility is definitely not there much anymore and that was a huge part of his game.
Ball control we are a top running team in the NFL.. 180 plus yards.. it may be mundane and boring but on a short week at jets..

Follow the formula. The Major fixable problems to me in week 2:

- miscommunication on the metcalf td
- jacoby not throwing the ball away
- outplayed on st at the end of the first half and the blocked fg

If we follow what we been doing plus get back on the plus side of the st battle thursday and don’t leave pts on the field feel i like we win.

I agree. Stick with the winning formula as you mentioned. Even in a loss I didn't have the feeling I had of hopelessness in losses. I actually feel different this season even with a rebuilding team

Aaron Rodgers is better than Geno Smith, but if they pressure him the way they pressured Geno, Rodgers will crack. The Jets also have lower quality receivers - Wilson is good, but the guys after him are not as good as Lockett/Smith-Njigba. The secondary should be able to match up better.

If Will Levis pooping his pants came within a few yards of overtime against the Jets then Brissett can do it.

Brissett is starting to give me that hopeless feeling. With him in there even when we get a lead we can't pull away. And I don't see how he's going to do any kind of comeback if we fall behind. Which leaves the only blueprint being similar to the past 2 weeks and at least that got us to 1-1. But I fear this is not sustainable.

We knew what we were getting and the OL is making it glaringly obvious that it's a problem.

1) Jacoby vs. Rodgers
2) Their o-line vs. ours.
3) Their receivers vs ours.

I don't think their run defense can be that bad. I guess I'll just keep reading until I see some reason for hope. Maybe we have a better head coach? Eh?

To my eye, his effort and aggression vary through the game, just as they have varied through his career. Last year he was out to lunch for pretty extended periods. Don't get me wrong: he's a very good back, most of the time.

That's Homer talk Rob at least Will Levis can hit a WR down the sidelines even if it's a prayer. Brissett doesn't even try if we can't stop the Jets running game it will be a very very long night. The Jets are going to be in AFC mix they have a nice balanced Team.

They Jets have a better Defense than us and have guys coming back later in the season.

If Bentley is out wich I can bet on a short week.. we will struggle against big strong breece...
