My only question would be how many errant throws and, or INTs would it take for Mayo to pull Brissett?

I don't think there's a hope in hell we see Maye before week 5 now.

If you wait till week 5 you miss at SF, at NYJ two top defenses and pass rushes in hostile enviroments and start with 3 home games + a neutral venue game and his first road games would be Tennessee and Chicago that's so much softer a landing spot.

We all knew this was decision that was going to be made. Cincy defensive line is salivating now. Drake was the X factor here.

I’m interested to see how Mayo handles the in game situations, time clock, timeouts, 4th and short. There are experienced coaches who still struggle with it.

The diapers are coming off of Mayo and Covington.

Bengals will throw a lot unless Zack Moss runs wild which would be hard to believe. It's amazing the Bengals lack of aggression this offseason to upgrade the RB position only to come away with Zack Moss.

Would it shock anyone to see Trent Brown want to show up his former team and have a good day?

Gesicki could see more targets with the focus on Chase and Higgens.

Hendrickson is going to be a nightmare to block.

This is one of those games it will either be a 13-6 win for the Bengals due to the rust or they just explode and blow out the Pats 31-3. Regardless, it's going to be a "welcome to coaching" moment for Mayo.

Bengals are winning this game in a rout, Brissett + this offensive line on the road against a team that can score absolutely stinks of 27-10.

I just don't see where the points are coming from, it's hard to see where we score more than 13.

The defense is tested right away. Burrow is a pocket passer so hes no threat to run. With judon and Barmore it won't be easy however covington will be dialing up more exotic blitz, they don't stay in one defense even the great ones like Burrow can get confused on what defense they are in. Gonzo needs to on the first play jam the F out of Higgins and let him know it's going to be a long day. Chase may not play also Cincy doesn't have Joe mixon anymore big loss for them.. I'm exepecting a close game.

Cincy loosing mixon was a huge blow to thier offense mixon was a TD machine and whenever Higgins or chase were taken away he carried the offense. J. Jones and Hawkins on chase, gonzo on Higgins.. let giseki beat you..

Won't be easy.. but I like the defense to keep it close. Whatever we get from offense is a bonus.

You could be right. However what if those INTS lead to scores from Cincys DBs.?.. say we are down 24- 7 in the 4th.. does Mayo pull him? To let Drake get mop up duty? Let's say Drake goes on 2 scoring drives, and makes it a 1 possession game... the pressure to play the kid would be immeasurable....

Brother I understand how you feel. But week 1 can go either way. I still feel the defense is still top 10 without Barmore or judon. You still have a great secondary, good LBs.. the defense doesn't stay in the same formation each snap also covington will be blitzing the hell out of Burrow.. as I said PF2.. J. Bengals #3 and 4 WR's could be a problem for us that Princeton kid A Losivas could make that second year jump at WR also Irwin is decent. Burrow knows how to find open people we are going to miss Judon 3rd and First Defense.

I agree brother. But if Burrow is going to his 3 and 4 WR then that's a win for the defense. I'm not saying at all Burrow won't make his plays but the defense isn't gonna sit back and just allow him to carve us up.

Lot of reasons to think Bungles will be rusty. If we don’t hand them short fields or non offensive touchdowns, it’ll be close.

Sidy Sow thought his achilles tendon popped when he went down, but it didn't. But still that's not a good sign if he's experiencing pain in that area. If your achilles is giving way, that's a bad sign.

Our Defense was overrated last year we played some crappy Teams which padded our stats. We have the Toughest Schedule this year gotta hope for injuries we are last in the Division again.

They are good enough PF2. 2nd best in AFCE. The games have to be played.. it never pans out the way we think. I understand why your not as high as I am.. but it's more on the offense.. I don't expect the D to be top 5.. but they are still good enough. The key is the offense..if captain Brissett can do anything that leads to scoring than we have a chance. I don't have much faith

Burrow unlike our QB is going to have excellent protection on the outsides. Orlando Brown and Trent Mount Brown are as good as it gets at both Tackle spots. Bengals got Trent Brown for basically nothing yeah we could use him.

Can't wait to see the Patriots Game plan on both sides of the ball. I expect the Bengals to blitz on almost every play they would be foolish not to.
