That's not even the half of it. It is part of a master plan that started after SB51.

Hear me out. Bill decided he would become the greatest sports coach ever by getting the most cursed sports city - Atlanta - a SB. But he did not want Pats fans to hate him so he came up with this plan that only Bill is smart enough to come up with.

Step 1 - get rid of Brady but make it look like Brady wanted to leave. Again Bill did not want Pats fans to hate him. He wanted to do that after 2017 season but Pats making it to 3 SBs in a row delayed it to 2020.

Step 2 - get Newton so that the team sucks organically enough to draft a crappy QB but high enough that everybody thought that was the QB of the future.

Step 3 - just to make sure said QB would crap the bed, hire a couple co-ordinators that would not know offense if it hit them in the face.

Step 4 - suck so bad that the coward owner would have a reason to fire him.

Step 5 - get hired by Atlanta and take all the best Pats players with him.

Step 6 - win a SB with Atlanta and voila greatest achievement in sports history.

Unfortunately, Kraft's genius son saw it and got his daddy to call the Falcons owner and kibosh the greatest master plan in sports history.

And that kids is how Bill almost stole all the Pats free agents. Oh what could have been indeed.
