Just tired of the negativity on this board. We went through years of the Tom crap when he left, and now Bill is gone, and I thought, woohoo finally we can move past that crap and get on to talking about football seriously. But now we have the Bill Ball washers who rip everythig the new regime does. Jesus cut the crap, it gets so old. Both are gone, I miss the years of both of them working together, but its time for everyone to get their heads out of their asses and start looking at this team.

Don't forget about the BB haters that blame everything on things that happened in the past. The NFL is geared to knocking good teams down and pumping up bad teams. With a promising QB and the beginning of a rebuild in progress, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

I'm looking.....and what I see......is what the oddsmakers are seeing.

When you start looking at this team with your head out of your ass what do you see?

The decisions being made have nothing to do with belichick.
Your complaints are exactly about people who are looking at the team and don’t like what they see.
You seem to be calling for everyone to ignore anything that looks bad and pretend things are wonderful. Thats not honest.

Strong defense. Young unproven wr's. Rookie qb who will probably taking over for a placeholder mediocre at best qb. Offensive line who will probably suck until we get everyone healthy and the youngsters get some seasoning. Good running back who will struggle until we get the oline working.

What do you see? the worst team in the league who sucks with an idiotic coach who shouldn't be coaching a middle school team and an owner who is pocketing all the money the team makes and would never spend a cent of his billions to make the team better?

No one can realistically look at this team and say their defense sucks. You can certainly argue their offense sucks, but they haven't played a game yet. It would be nice to see them play before we make that call.

Until we see players like Gonzo and White emerge as game-changers and Barmore returns to 2023 form the defense is very average.

The offense has an opportunity to be better than last year IF the line can settle in to be functional and Maye is ahead of schedule.

I think this team has a good opportunity to be a playoff team next year if Maye takes a big step and they continue to add key talent through the draft and FA.

I think that's the reality of the 2024 NEP.

I think you are being very negative. If people disagree that is not a negative.

I see Gonzo and White emerging as All Pros. I see Maye as the best QB in the 2024 draft going on to be a Top 5 QB in this league.

I see the most cap space in the league for the next few years. I see a young team without the veteran boat anchors typically attached. I see an OL only missing one piece (maybe two).

You are right about the coach lacking any experience and stumbling out of the blocks, but the good news is that Mayo will get better or be replaced and the situation is quickly fixed. Bad coaches are not like bad players - coaching can be fixed quickly, bad players take years to replenish. So Mayo and Van Pelt are not that important as long as the roster improves.

The owner that is cheap. That is a negative. What billionaire drives a Bentley to a FL strip mall for handjobs? Only a really cheap guy does that. But his son is taking over so hopefully that will change too.

The run defense scares me. If that is bad, all the dominos fall

We were the third worst team in the NFL last year and they did absolutely nothing to improve the team. They added a few rookies but the only one of them that seems worth being overly excited about is a rookie QB that they're trying to develop slowly.

Constant negativity might be annoying but it's really all there is to say about this team. Organizationally they decided to punt on this year. Not even saying I disagree with their strategy, but it doesn't yield anything positive to talk about this year.

The only constructive or positive conversation we can have, IMO, is looking forward to next year's draft and FA period. They didn't give us much of anything positive to say about this year's roster.

The defense hasn’t played a game yet. The defense you are basing your opinion on lost it’s designer who was the best defensive mind of our generation. It also lost 2/3 of its interior DL and is trying to replace them with castoffs. Who is going to stop the run, who is going to rush the passer? Who is cb3 and s3, one of the other is on the field virtually every down. Is there depth at any position at all to overcome inevitable injuries?
There are many reasons to be concerned.

Idk the Mac Jones haters telling us we had a good team but the QB was holding back the team and coaches all by himself over and over again got tiresome. As did the hardcore Zappe stans drooling over one game over a year ago insisting he’s the next Brady and he’s taking over the league rofl. And took it personally when you said anything different. Lol. Lol.

Weird that those Mac Jones haters don’t seem to think the team is good at all now. Huh

Criticism on the roster is fine. The funny thing is as recent as last year alot of them were in total denial when people would point out the concerning state of the roster and they would scapegoat Mac as the problem. Which yes he sucked ass but according to them you just get average qb play and its a winning team. Never wanted to admit the critical issues we had at OL, WR, as well as some secondary needs which was going to take at least 2 offseasons to fix for whoever was taking over.

But now that Bill is gone suddenly its okay to slam the roster and the front office every chance they get and act like this all happened overnight . Where were all these critical posts the last few years when the roster was getting to this point? Thats where you can easily see who’s giving the constructive criticism and who has an axe to grind.

I don’t think anyone has said Mayo sucks, he has t cus he’d a game yet, but you have to be ignorant to not recognize there are warning signs. Hopefully it’s just poorly communicating in the media, hopefully that communication so far isn’t really who he is.

The owner bring cheap is simply a fact. He always has been. And by cheap I mean compared to the other owners. Once BB had pelts on the wall, earned the power to compromise. So we could always spend to the cap, but we had a low cash budget. (The difference between cash and cap is signing bonus money, meaning we have out much less of that that most teams, which made it harder to attract high level free agents). Now that BB is gone, he was replaced by a guy who was ordered to go in front of the media and correct his statements that we had a lot of money to spend. Suddenly we have 40,000,000 of unspent cap.
These are facts. I know it’s emotionally upsetting to you and others fans, but that is who the owner is, and one of the obstacles the franchise faces. Burying your head in the sand won’t make it go away.

I agree. Just wanted to touch on blow hard Lombardi. When he was here he was let go. Reported he didn't like that JK injected himself in alot of foot ball decisions. Lombardi was totally out of line. He hasn't been employed by an NFL team since he left NE. So he stands on his soap box and trys to speak for Bill.

This could be the most frustrating part. I real honest analysis of last years actually games, as they were played says we won 6 more games with mediocre, less than awful QB play . A flawed team had enough strength to win 10 games if its largest flaw was only bad not awful.
You can pick apart those games and say beating the giants and devito doesn’t make you a good team for instance, but it still would have been 10 wins. Now, would that team win 10 against this years schedule, not a chance.
But you had the makings of a contender and a boatload of resources at your disposal. ADD TO and already good defense (instead we subtracted) get the QB right, get him some protection and although a better qb makes better receivers, built that out too.
Fix the problems. We didn’t do that and frankly took a half assed approach to it only adding cheap JAGs and not spending to the cap.
What we should have done was strengthen the strengths and shore up the weaknesses at least making them adequate. That’s a huge step in the right direction. Instead it just seems like we took a mulligan year and we will see if it’s worth trying next year.

Why does someone having an opinion the opposite of yours bother you?
