Does anyone have NFL+? Supposedly you can lookup the average separation for each WR and even average separation for all the WRs on a team. There was an article about this in the Wall Street Journal last weekend (pay walled here: https://www.wsj.com/sports/football/nfl-stats-data-analytics-next-gen-271f1a14). I think that San Francisco WRs had the highest average separation. I wonder how the Patriots ranked...snork, snork.

The Pats have ranked among the worst since 2019.

I just saved you some time and money. You're welcome.

FFS now there's whinging about unknown numbers? What's next? The texture of the ladies room tampons?

Demario Douglas was very good

And Devante Parker and K. J. Osborn were near the bottom.

Demario at 3.1 was the only one who was good (I don't count Gisecki). Osborn was 3.3. Parker dead last 2.0 - sadly his best by far since 2019.

Imho, this is partially a QB stat, as someone who separates but has to slow down for an underthrown ball will get dinged for almost no separation.

Average Separation (SEP)
The distance (in yards) measured between a WR/TE and the nearest defender at the time of catch or incompletion.

Good gawd, that is horrific. What did the Patriots see???? And Mac was supposed to throw to him?

I am surprised the Skyy Moore ranked so poorly--I think he was a nimble smurf. And what happened to Metchie; wasn't he a high pick?

They were probably aware that low separation has actually been moderately successful in recent years, including with Parker himself as a 1200 yard receiver with the third worst separation (ahead of two more 1000 yard receivers). Last year, the bottom 12 separators included 4 1000 yard seasons plus another presumed to be a consistent 1000 yard guy going forward (Tee Higgins).
