Aiyuk officially requests trade

Aiyuk is a great player, but not sure he is the guy we want for ~30m/year....

Edit: Just saw 49ers offered him $26m/per and he said no way.. meaning he wants more. Exciting player, but not "top 10 money" guy for me
Any top WR in the league is going for 25 plus.. it's, like the QB market it's what the league is.
It's unavoidable. Even if you develop your own guys if they become high productivity players then they deserved to be paid. Only way he gets traded is a sign and trade. The 49ers developed him, and I'm sure at one point he was willing to play for say 20-25.. maybe a year ago. He's a top 10 WR in the league for sure.

A second rounder or third and a 5th could get it done.
Wolf needs to land a top WR, he keeps swinging and missing.

1st Round Pick as compensation? NO!!! We'll have a huge chunk of cap money next year AND will be drafting high (certainly high enough to get a Day One starter at LT (in addition to addressing other needs). And, before that, we might have the opportunity to sign a young and talented FA or two. Also, let's see not only what this years draft picks show for promise, but also those that have been drafted within the last 3-4 years.
Personally I have us picking I'm the top 20 I think we'll have 8-9 wins... a 2nd rounder sure. But I believe like most top performance players money is what he wants and he deserves to be paid. Some times guys over value themselves.. I think he's in the 20-25 million range.. but seemingly he wants to be paid in the 30 plus. He's not Tyreek who's the best in the game, not JJ, not chase, he's a top 10 WR for sure.

I love the prospects of polk and baker. However if you can get a polished WR then you do it. Obviously there would be an odd man out if we got BA.. I'd say it's juju.

Judon and a 3rd??...

Hmmm.

I think this is getting done.
You gotta set up Maye to succeed,
This would be a excellent security blanket for him to have,
I’m all for Judon and third.

It would be a great scenario for both teams. We get Maye a bonafide #1..while polk& baker are developing. Judon gets to go to a championship contender.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is the reason why he is rejecting that. Aiyuk will force the 49ers hand to pay up or trade him. They thought he would let this go so they didn't deal him before the draft, but he may not be playing around.

The question is, what team would want to trade for him and pay him? Baltimore, Buffalo, LA Chargers and the Jets are teams that come to mind.

Ju Ju Judon and a third
The problem is Judon is not a hand in the dirt DE.

The allure of Aiyuk might be greater than his capacity to play as a true #1.
He's good, he's young, he's productive... but he's played on a very explosive team, normally with Deebo & Kittle.

I'd love to get him, but not for a #1 pick, and not for the ungodly deals the top WR's are getting.
I agree he'd legitimize this WR corp, and possibly at the expense of Polk or Baker.
I'd rather use this year to really let those 2 guys get as many reps as possible and see if one turns into that guy we need.

They have a few of those guys on thier roster.. they need a true edge guy at LB.. judon would thrive there . I'm just intriguing becuase the organization has reached out multiple times as reported so they really want him.

Judon& 3rd should suffice. Aiyuk, Polk, pop, KB, Baker, KJ.. would be a formidable WR corps. Don't forget about wich I believe is the best RB duo in the league rham/Gibson

Very good points. But we have inquired about him multiple times. So there's something up. With him on the outside and baker on the outside with pop in the slot would take this offense to another level. We could do anything on offense run, pass, don't forget we have a top 5 TE in Henry as well who's a red zone monster. Polk and baker could thrive as they developed alongside him.

officially asks for a trade? What does that mean? This "official" request means absolutely nothing other than the negotiations are going nowhere and he wants help from fans.

Pass the popcorn.

means he wants to be a Paidtriot

I don't mind overpaying (in terms of money) for Aiyuk - we need to get used to the idea that this team is going to have to overpay in order to attract top quality free agents or, in the case, extend a contract for a guy coming up on free agency.

But I do not want to overpay in terms of assets/draft picks, and the first rounder that SF is (reportedly) insisting on would be too expensive.

The room is full. We don't need to add WRs at the moment!
