Resurrecting this old thread to point out that Caleb Williams is apparently as big of a PITA as we all thought he would be. I am just glad he is someone else's nightmare. He better be awfully talented in order to justify the headaches he is giving people - but I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze here. I guess we will find out.

This is amazing. Everyone thought he was going to be a headache. Looks like he may be.

You have to wonder what the Pats would have done in the draft if this kid ended up as their option at #3.

I think the Patriots would have thought they could mold him.
I bet Mayo and wolf would have took him.
That Bears offense is loaded, he couldn’t be set up better for a rookie.
If he squanders it oh my.
He may be coming into the best situation for a rookie QB since Roethlisberger who had a great O line, solid running backs and a top notch defense... I travel to Chicago 4-5 times a year on business and was out there right before the draft and there were plenty of fans who were hesitant of him, not of his on the field abilities, the above the shoulders stuff......

I think they probably would have taken him too. Mayo is all about feelings and probably thinks he could have connected with him. But it's definitely an interesting "what if". Also fair to wonder what other teams would've offered in trade comp for him at #3.

Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. They could have gotten a boatload for him.

I am glad he got signed because I want to see him play, though I still think he will be a major headache when it comes time for a new deal down the road. In the meantime, I'll just get my popcorn ready.

I personally like William's game he has a little Mahomes in him. Just was not sold on his statue Daniels have a similar take. I think all Three Guys could be Great but Maye more than looks the part.

He was always going to sign, the rookie contracts are locked in based on the salary cap. All the noise prior to the draft was just that… noise by people trying to move the market.

All that being said, I see big boom or bust potential with this kid. He seems flighty, played in the Pac12 where defense is an afterthought. A lot of the heroics he attempted in college won’t fly in the pros. He’s also only 6’1.” I’m glad the Patriots got Maye instead.

He got Elite Arm strength though IF Wilson who's a lot shorter had NFL success so can Caleb Williams.

The muscle between his ears matters more than those in his arm. Let’s see…

He gives me all the wrong signals. Seriously, he just feels like one giant red flag.

I think he's gonna be special and prove alot of people wrong. I know I'm in the minority here but we'll see right?
No arguing that he has a very high ceiling, you are justified in your opinion. Let me be the first to say that on the field he has some Mahomes in him. Off the field he pure Aaron Rogers.
