Lol they aren't exactly doing charity work out there.
Yeah right lol? They risk their health for a huge paycheck. They'd all do the same thing if they got the same contracts and the games were held in Area 51 and never shown to the public. Not saying I don't respect the grind they go through, but they aren't thinking about the fans entertainment when they take big hits.

Well they are not getting injured intentionally either.

Seems like some fans take offense to them getting injured, personally.

This is one of Bill's worst draft picks, which is really saying something.
He's nowhere near as bad as Harry, Duke Dawson, Joejuan Williams, etc.

I feel for the guy. He just should've been a 3rd round draft pick. We'd see him much differently
Ras IR Dowling was by far the worst and the most irresponsible pick. Bill had all night to think about who he'd want to take wit the very first pick of Day 2, but takes a DB who's had major injuries since high school. Everyone one else there was a far less time limit to make a selection.

That was misinterpreted. He wasnt laughing at Bill. He was laughing because he had hoped to get him in Round 3 and didn’t realize he was that high on anyone’s board. You never know.

I doubt he’ll ever live up to first round status but I think Strange will be decent.
No, I watched it and he was laughing at this pick in the first round. He was laughing at Strange being overdrafted

I'm not offended just making an observation. Some players are way more prone to injuries than others. Seems that Strange is one of them. If it's because he's trained to do something he can't handle physically - who knows.

I'd say Jordan Richards and that one were the two worst.

Rohrwasser too. That's a 5th round pick on a kicker who didn't even make the team. Lol

"Month to Month"....lol

When it comes to playing well and actually playing, I'm not counting on him at all.

When he was a rookie and before he was hurt he was up and down. It's on him to perform but he hasn't exactly had the best coaching or best talent on offense surrounding him.

Anything he does well or at all is a bonus.

Only thread I was able to find on this overdrafted bum. Month to month with knee injury per Jerod Mayo. What a joke.

Moderator edit: comment above moved to a new thread in order to avoid confusion with comments from a year+ old thread.
I certainly agree he appears to be a bust, but a bum? It's not his fault he got drafted too early or that he got hurt. Nor have I seen any reporting about lack of effort.

Someone was asking for evidence of Strange being injury prone? Well…

He may lose his job if someone else emerges taking his place and Cole knows it.

Richards was bad, but Dowling gets the edge as he's had ACL tears since High School. His injury history was extensive. Easley is up there as well with his no knees.

The Rohrwasser pick was pointless and I called the day he was drafted that he would be cut. I was met with a ton of resistance.

Eh. I did love Ras-I the player if he stayed healthy, though. Like I get the gamble there, it just didn't pay off.

You really are just rolling the dice on those injury situations sometimes. Sometimes you end up with Gronk.

He wasn't the worst player in the world, but Bill's mental gymnastics he made taking Jermaine Cunningham ahead of Carlos Dunlap has always stuck with me.

Taking the DB is not what upset me as it was a need, but you can't be burning high picks on players with that amount of injuries. The best available players were pass rushers and many media and fans wanted Jabaal Sheard.

Gronk was also a major risk with his back surgery. He was a fluke.

What a draft that would've been had he took Dunlap. I think everyone and their mom wanted Dunlap. Bill wanted to stick with a 3-4 which is why he took Cunningham. What made the pick worse was when Bill went back to a 4-3 one year later in 2011.

I also interpreted it as that- McVay was laughing at how "wrong" his own evaluation was. He also was clearly buzzed.

I remember Sheard was taken a few picks later, but I saw him as more of a late round 2 guy if I remember right. He eventually came here, if nothing else.

I feel like many of us wanted Brooks Reed at that 33 spot, which did not work out either. Justin Houston really would have been the right pick there, but slid all the way down to the 3rd for whatever reason.

It's probably unfair to criticize many whiffs back in the early 2010's drafts. It lead to 3 Super Bowls over the next 5-6 years following, and we were still hitting on plenty of picks during that 2010-13 stretch.

The whiffs started to mount up 14-15 and onwards. Those were the drafts that lead to the eventual downfall in 2019 that chased away Brady.

Out until mid season. The hell happened to his knee
A couple months ago I tried to figure that out. From what I was able to find, Strange most likely had a left knee patellar tendon rupture. The typical recovery time is six months, which would mean that he would definitely not participate in OTAs, but would be ready to go somewhere between the start of training camp and start of the season.

From what Mike Reiss is reporting, it now sounds like the rehab timeline has been pushed back.
