Drake Maye would be the IDEAL pick for the Patriots at #3

If McCarthy is there at 6.
McCarthy will be there at 6, let’s not over value him as a prospect like so many on these boards just regurgitating recent NE media takes. Meanwhile, the college game day threads were largely dormant this year for those who watched him and many other prospects through the season.

Here is a Chart that @BaconGrundleCandy posted about the QBs. I look at this chart and I don't see ANY WAY that Drake Maye should be considered in the top 10, let alone, top 3.

To me, this says that he makes his receivers do all the hard work and one has to wonder if the off-target throws led to receivers getting creamed far too often.
Personally, I don't like Williams either as I think he's going to bust just like Leinhart and Darnold.

IMO, he's overvalued at 6 or 8 or even 10.

The issue is whether we will get any of the top 4 QB's beyond 6.

I'll have high grades on Daniels, Williams and Maye but none will approach a "lottery/top 10" grade for me.

It's all in the game though. We're desperate and it's a really good class. Eventually you have to take a shot, none of these guys are perfect. But yea, that's the game we're playing. I hate when the value doesn't match up but this is the one position you have to gamble.

You are way off on Caleb Williams the deep ball will come what you see on Tape from him is that he's a play extender and have a Rocket Arm. Also USC wasn't exactly an Offensive juggernaut also based on those Stats Penix Jr should have been a little better going deep with the Talent he had at WR . We can see why Daniels did well there by your take Teams should just take Michael Pratt #1 overall that's not how it works DB. I will say this Caleb Williams is Mahomes light believe that.

On Maye his Best WR Josh Downs posted 771yds as a Rookie again NC wasn't that talented Offensively a lot of Meh guys.

11-15 yards is not "the deep ball".

Like I said. Williams ego, amongst other things, is what will prevent him from succeeding as a Pro.
BTW, Try reading what's said. Not what you think is said. You'd go a lot farther in discussions.

I hope we Draft him to see you change your tune DB the bandwagon jumper make room for DB.

I will say this all three QB's have their comps C Williams = Mahomes light: D Maye = Allen or Herbert - J Daniel = Jackson don't shoot the messenger DB.

@rochrist ugh?? You can't be serious all Three could be Franchise QB's none of us really know but they all have good tools to work with.

What can I say? I don't agree. I wouldn't be surprised if 2 of the 3 end up as mediocre. The only one I really like is Maye. And McCarthy.

Yeah that’s where I’m at right now and on board with taking a high stab at one of them, regardless of mixed feelings when looking too closely at them one by one.

Interesting trying to recall a past year entering the draft where the top 3 picks were more anticipated (likely?) to all be at QB. Who knows if that actually happens, but seems it’s more common to be debates between player A vs. player B at the top, and not a third QB so close on their heels. 1983 and 2004 are well heralded for what those QBs did after the fact, but neither had three guys in the top 10, let alone 1-2-3. Is this year just the perfect storm of need, premium of position, and maybe less blue chip talent elsewhere than usual? And of course, a group of guys at the position who aren’t reaches by most standards. Curious your take and always appreciate your draft insight

Interesting chart. Those Maye numbers are worrisome.

There are some funky things on this sheet. The instance, there is a pretty dramatic difference in on target throws from 21 to 30 and 31+ for Rattler and Mccarthy.

Watching highlights of Maye and Daniel's. I like Maye better.

One criticism I heard was that he isn't reading the field and throws to his first read. Can't tell if that is true from highlights. Looks like he moves, keeps eyes down field. And has a very fast release. All while under pressure.

Daniels stands in a clean pocket forever and then throws to a receiver.

This is looking more and more possible by the day.

I looked at 6 most recent mock drafts on google ( cbs, si, mel kiper,nfl.com and a couple other randoms) and 5 of 6 had Daniels to commanders. Obviously not the whole telll but it could be entering toss up territory with maye and Daniels. Though i prefer maye

Daniels will not have a clean pocket forever with the Patriots and he will not have Nabors to throw to. I believe he and Tyquan Thornton will get broken in half
