NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2023 Conference Championship Games discussion thread

That’s recency bias. Montana had way tougher defenses to play against where d was allowed.

Mahomes receivers get free releases then cannot be touched running all over the field in a league with watered down qb play. He has a path of least resistance compared to Montana. Not to mention the favorable ref calls.
He also had a team assembled with no salary cap.

It’s not recency bias with me. I saw Montana’s whole career and all of Mahome’s so far.

While I agree with you that the rules in place today definitely favor the offense; today’s defensive schemes are much more complex then they ever were in the 80s/early 90s when Montana played.

I stand by my comment that Mahomes moves ahead of Montana in the GOAT QB discussion…if he wins in 2 weeks.
I would have him at 3 just below Montana if he gets 4 I'd move him at 2 no question. Just using the same energy everyone had for Tom. Tom needed 5 to be universally acclaimed as the GOAT.

Being a statistical league leader - and setting a new high bar at the position - and making to a handful of championship games by late 20s / early 30s has been done more than people are considering.

I'm ready for a Chiefs downfall don't see it within the next 2 years though lol We'll see I hope SF comes to play and not like Baltimore

So you’re convinced that Campbell was somehow paid off by the league to intentionally not go for those FGs?

Did the NFL pay off the Lions WR to drop that 4th down pass? Did the league pay of Goff to underthrow the ball on the other 4th down failure?

Where was the game rigged exactly?

It's on you to prove that it's not fixed. Good luck.

If that's the case and if you feel that way why are you watching?

I turned it off after that series of events.

Why waste your time on something that very clearly went rogue.

Take a breath, buddy. Brady won his first 10 playoff games and won 3 before you could blink. He's got 7. Mahomes has 2.
Yeah mahomes has the advantage of being pushed every step of the way by the NFL

What gives you that idea? It's completely legal (as long as the facemark isn't grabbed) and an important technique for fending off tacklers.
Opinions vary, I reckon.

When Kelce retires, things will be drastically different.

Without Kelce last night the Chiefs would have had no offense.

That Drama king won't for a while we'll be saying Gronk who because Travis will have all the TE records.

I have the feeling Kelce will retire with his brother this offseason.

You didn’t marvel at that defensive game plan? Mahomes all the 2nd half with 66 yards until that final play?
Sarcasm to the power of n. Football is the greatest team sport. Coaching absolutely matters. This ain’t baseball or soccer. 53 players plus staff, everyone matters.

He had a pretty rough year but magically come playoff time it's the same old same old.

He has at least one more year in him.

Super Bowl is going to be a Lions home game. Absolutely every single lifelong suffering Lions fan is gonna take out mortgages for a ticket.
Ha .. bet they bought at the half… sold them after !!

The refs didn’t bail out KC. The only DPI that wasn’t obvious was the one on Van Noy. The others were blatant and obvious.

The Ravens lost because their offense was a sh!tshow and they’re a team that lacks discipline and composure. The refs weren’t to blame. Don’t invent a narrative based on your hatred of the Chiefs.
Napoleon said "Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake"

Just let the Ravens be themselves. Over at the KC bench talking a big game and trying to push KC around.

This is the second time i see gronk on a panel and they don't even let him speak. I understand he's not the most eloquent guy in the room, but you've let Terry Bradshaw speak for over 2 decades.
Gronk struggles at his shtick. He tries to hard

Is this receiver gonna laugh on the sidelines again after his drop?
Nothing worse than seeing that. But honestly, you gotta put the negative play behind you. Get ready for the next one. Can’t get your brain stuck on negative plays.
