How badly were we out of the playoffs with that terrible pick's rookie year?
He was nowhere near as good as everyone likes to make out in hindsight. Once there was a little bit of film on him, he crashed and burned.

Please not Daniels unless we bring in an experienced QB coach that has worked with mobile QBs and can teach progressions
And arm strength.

I would make that deal.
I wonder if Xavier Legette would still be on the board by #37. Maybe repackage a couple of picks to move if Legette’s within reach value wise. Or what tackles would be left.

I really want MHJ at 3, we know he is going to have a great work ethic. I watched an Interview with MH Sr and he said they watched game film as soon as MHJ started playing. If you told me I could have a good QB at 3 (which I think the top 3 QBs are just good but not special) or Calvin/Moss type at 3, I am choosing the WR.

Then plan on running him on a jet sweep 120 times, because he sure as hell won’t be catching anything other than the flu from these QB’s.

MHJ getting picked at 3 immediately becomes the WR1 in the pats offense for the next 10 years. He's generational.

Yep, he could get dozens of yards every game with the Patriots QB’s. They should use their second round pick on a fullback, then they will be complete.

If they do take MHJ at #3, that means Daniels was left and they were not sold on him. Does not mean the current QB's will be one of the starters, you have some veteran stop gaps and a 2nd or 3rd round QB or a trade up back into first for a different QB you might like as much as Daniels but is going to go a bit later.

MHJ is the best Wide Receiver prospect since Calvin Johnson

2007 Draft
Raiders-Jamarcus Russell QB
Lions-Clavin Johnson WR-Hall of Fame
Browns-Joe Thomas OT-Hall of Fame

Ironic QB vs WR or OT?

If Maye or Williams are available you take them, everyone has them ranked really high compared to QB's at the top of the draft historically. Daniels is not as highly rated, he's not the third best prospect, so you really have to be sold on him to skip one of the best Wide Receiver prospects of all time.

Best prospect at WR since Calvin Johnson? Ok, you changed my mind, but thats only because the Lions won so many playoff games and rings with Calvin Johnson. I’m changing my pick to Harrison, Lombardi Trophy here we come. And when you put that together with all the rings Randy Moss ended up with it’s a no brainer, WR is the key to winning championships, not quarterbacks. They should use their 2nd and 3rd round picks on WR’s as well, this is deep WR draft and we can’t miss out on any of them.

Sarcasm aside, it's a tough spot. I mean, there's a school of thought that *all* of the QBs in this draft are overrated (and personally I think Williams is the only game-changer in the draft, like Lawrence a couple of years ago) - so you're potentially wasting #3 on the next RG3, instead of drafting the next, well Marvin Harrison - just because you need a QB. If Harrison's gone, I'm cool with trading out, if he's not, then you have to take him - or prepare to hear 'WE COULD HAVE TAKEN MARVIN HARRISON', except in this case, actually legitimate, for the next 12-15 years.

I get sarcastic when I think the point or argument being made is really dumb, and the Calvin Johnson argument, and Morse’s “ the player could bust” argument both met that standard. And I obviously don’t have all of the information that scouts and coaches have, so if they look at the QB prospect and think he will suck then they should take another prospect, but I disagree that it’s a tough spot, I think it’s a great spot to be in, and all things being equal, and given that the Patriots have the worst QB room in football the edge goes to the QB. I thought Trey Lance and Zack Wilson were bad choices in that draft, but I was ok with Jones because of the competition he played against, and the reports about his character, football IQ, and work ethic, which are vital to success for any QB, but I was wrong, and he didn’t exhibit those characteristics here.

As far as this draft goes I think all 3 will go top 4, but the one who really concerns me is Williams, because of character concerns, and so far Daniel’s is checking all the boxes for me, and I would be fine with Maye as well. And right now I’m hearing that the next QB class sucks, which means that if they pass on the QB’s then it will be 3 years at a minimum before they find a QB, and 5 likely to become a real contender again, because the free agent QB’s suck, and I’m not going to count on them finding a gem no one else knew about later in the draft, because if other teams know about them then they will be gone as well.

So if they think these QB’s suck then by all means don’t take them, and don’t count on winning any time soon, because you don’t win without a QB, and they don’t have one. Maybe they will win as many playoff games and rings as Generational Calvin Johnson did.

That's not the point, would you rather build your team by drafting Demarcus Russell or Calvin Johnson?

Would you rather build your team by drafting CJ Stroud or Aaron Dobson?
