Bill’s first offer…

I know you're old, so I'll give you a pass but you clearly don't know what's happening here. Lol
So you're inferring old people are all senile? Interesting.

You should know that sometimes, believe it or not, older people can have insight.

For example, my grandfather, God rest his soul, had a saying of which you remind me:

"If you could buy him for what he's worth, and sell him for what he THINKS he's worth, you'd make a fortune."

No idea. If I had to guess, he'd want the buck to stop with him and not the GM. So they'd have to give him a title like HC and President of Football operations or something that puts him above the GM.
We'll find out I suppose. I think Bill might be willing to give up some clout to have the chance to pass Shula in wins. The Falcons seem like a good opportunity for Bill.

My guess is the interview this weekend is going to outline the flow chart of the decision making in Atlanta. What Bill wants vs what Blank wants. If they can agree, he'll be the Falcon's next coach.

As far as it being a good opportunity, I think it's his only opportunity,

I had an older neighbor when I was a kid and he used to pull me aside now and then and give me all sorts of great advice. I get the feeling that young folks today are being led astray somewhere, possibly in school, into thinking that old means senile.

It appears Atlanta is his only offer.

I wonder why he had less chances than I thought he would. It had to be his age or his poor last few seasons.

Unlike I was with Brady, I'm not that interested in what happens for Bill down the road.

Falcon Fever. Catch it!

I can't wait to see the 50 camera shots every game with Bill writing notes in his notebook. That should be wicked exciting.

I've made mention that we should do this:

bring in Russ Wilson as a bridge Mac n Zapp both see themselves as starters in the league we need the draft pick to learn from a winner, an established veteran or trade for fields.
The draft is a crap shoot so I'd trade back and add picks after bringing in a bridge QB. I'd then pick a QB at some point and see if he can develop. I don't think that throwing rookie QBs to the wolves is the right way to go.

I think it's a combination of the two, plus the culture he will bring is going to be a drastic change for any organization. Anyone who brings him in knows he's basically a short term rental. He's not going to be there for more than 3 years. If I am an owner, the cons outweigh the pros by a lot.

I will probably be as interested in Bill's success as I was Tom's. If it was on TV, I might have caught Tom's games, but that wasn't my team. I am certainly not going to follow the Falcons because he's there.

Those who think that his interview with the Falcons last week was the first contact he has had with Blank about the head coaching job are either naïve or dense. Nobody plans for the future like BB, whether that involves free agency or the salary cap….or his future home as a head coach.
How's the Pats future looking after Bill's last 4 years here? The win totals look like a countdown for a NASA launch.

Personally, I couldn't care less where he ends up as long as he stays gone.

C'mon and sing along everybody...

The absolutely glorious part of this whole thing is its impact on Felger and Mazz. These two have made probably millions off the team and the crazy amount of interest in the team. Bill to Atlanta, an NFL hinterland, is great because no one is going to listen to them drone on and on about **** Bill does as HC of the AF. And the signing of Mayo and the resultant 3 seasons hovering around .500 (if they're lucky) are going to crater their ratings...and it will be wonderful

agreed. I'd like to have as many picks as possible. This draft likely will need to be 90% offense heavy no? Yes, anyway we look at is we need a veteran in here.

There’s no consistency to be had: one guy left in free agency; the other was fired despite wanting to stay.
The circumstances look the same. Both men were forced out.

But you did forgot something. One guy was the undisputed GOAT at the most important position in football with an incredible winning % and the other is a HC chasing a meaningless record for wins. He's got the loss record locked up though, and in only 29 years.

They are the only entertaining sports talk radio show in Boston. They’ll be fine with or without Belichick. I’m honestly more drained by the Bill conversation than if they just move on to other items. They’ve been talking about the same damn thing for about 3 years so it’ll be good for the show to have new things to talk about with the Patriots.

I have a feeling they'll find something to talk about.

If I had to pick one sports show to watch on the boob tube it would be PTI, which is the only time I watch BSPN other than a Pats, Celtics or Bruins game.

They'll reverse course to whatever gets fans riled, gotta give it to Felger, he knows how to push buttons.

I think it's mostly a couple of things...the state of the game today with offensive savants being more valuable than defensive guys and teams know Bill at his age is a short term answer at best as coach. Hard to build your vision for a team around that situation. And his last few seasons have to give them pause. There's a reason why the Pats fired him instead of letting the clock run out on his contract. Honestly surprised any teams at all are showing interest right now.

Yeah I wish BB well but I can't say I'll be following the Falcons (if he's there) all that much. They are not a rival and aren't in our division or conference. Brady's success elsewhere validated the dynasty. Bill's success doesn't move the needle except to push him to that record.
