It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I also listened and figured I'd post the source since it will likely lead to dozens of aggregated pieces running the same thingI actually clicked it, thinking he might say something. Nope. Getting ready for the Jets.
Love your take except give Mayo the shot he couldn't be any worse than another young mind we could bring in or go all in for the proven Jim Harbaugh. These takes are amusing. They praise Belichick for being focused at the task of preparing his team for the games regardless of their record. Yet, the team continues to make mistakes, penalties, TOs, etc., and continue to lose close games.
Bill says he hasn't changed the way he approaches the games. Yet, the team continues to make mistakes, penalties, TOs, etc., and continue to lose close games.
The message is clear. Bill isn't changing his ways and his ways are increasingly ineffective. He can no longer reach or coach up his team. Bill is ass. His team is ass.
Team needs to move on from Bill or face another season of a middling sub .500 performance. What is it going to take for people to open their eyes and realize Belichick is no longer a good HC. He can still scheme a good defense but so can a dozen other DCs out there. Keep Mayo as DC (with the title), find a young offensive minded HC and a GM with a track record or in a system that knows how to evaluate offensive players.
The future is bright as long as the team stops carrying Belichick. He's honestly dead weight at this point.

I think IF Kraft is moving on the possible successors are there I would go all in for Harbaugh or stick with Mayo. Jim would be a Big name in our Market.
I was prepared to make an argument on Harbaugh and "what the hell has he done at the NFL level", but upon further review, he's not a horrible choice. He was 44-19 with the 49ers from 2011-14, making 3 NFCCG, winning once and losing to the Ravens in the SB. He's 85-25 at Michigan, built a winning program in 4 years at Stanford as well. I don't hate it. Checks the boxes of offensive minded. Checks the boxes of successful. They could do worse.
I still would prefer a younger guy, as Harbaugh is 60, but he's a brand name that would not shrink from the challenge of coaching the NEPs.
He's really about the only option that intrigues me.

I would really want someone who's big enough to not shrink from the spotlight of following a legend. Harbaugh fits that. My guess is that Mayo is his own man enough to be up for it, but there'd be growing pains. I am all in on having a younger guy, so that check mark goes to Mayo. The Don Yee thing is intriguing for sure. He's really about the only option that intrigues me.
Second on my list right now is Flores and the difference in my interest in each is vastly different.
I have very little interest in a first time Head Coach.
Where is Flores these days??He's really about the only option that intrigues me.

I echoed this rationale a couple weeks ago... leaning toward someone like Harbaugh in our potentially chaotic state if BB & Co. leave. We'd benefit from someone with experience and deep ties to NFL staff, assistants, personnel people - because we could be totally resetting. Throwing a newbie like Mayo, or say a OC, in that position could be doomed from the start.
