The fellowship of the miserable, living in a fantasy future rescued by rookie saviors. Have another juice box, fellas, and drown your sorrows while the rest of us celebrate the Patriots WINNING two out of three.

Lmao. I have been called a homer my entire time here, now with 1 negative take I’m in “ the fellowship of the miserable.” Have fun rooting for Jones and Zappe next season, I’ll be playing golf and enjoying myself, instead of watching a dogshit product fail.

Here's another juice boxer -- a SUREFIRE STAR drafted No. 2 overall -- maybe his example will make you feel better.

You apparently thought was going to be a star, myself and a good friend who is a Jets fan both thought he was going to suck, and the same went for Trey Lance. Having a top 3 pick doesn’t guarantee anything, what it does is give you the most control over your decision.

While it's disappointing to see a top #2 or 3 pick slip away. All is not lost.

This team has a lot of holes they need to fill besides QB and picking top 5 in every round we should be able to draft a quality WR, tackles etc...even a flyer on another QB.

I hope I’m wrong, but I think Daniels and Maye are the two best prospects in this Draft, and I think both will now be gone when the Patriots pick. Maybe Belichick will be gone and the GM will move up, we’ll see?

It seems like there is a significant contingent of Bears fans that want to keep Fields and want nothing to do with Caleb Williams. There might be an opportunity to trade with the Bears or Cardinals to move up and get Maye. If they can't move up to get him, then trade down and take Daniels or even just pick Daniels at four if you don't think he'll be around at a lower pick. I don't want to draft a Tackle at pick four. That would be such a waste of draft capital.

36 QBs were taken with a Top 5 pick in the last 25 NFL Drafts (1999-2023):
  • Zero won a Super Bowl for the team that drafted them
  • Two won a Super Bowl
  • Six played in a Super Bowl
  • 30 have not played in a Super Bowl

Two out of three what? AFCE Cellar awards?

I would be all for moving into the # 1 overall, but that will only happen if they move on from Belichick. If they did I would take Daniels, but I’m fine with Maye as well. If they can’t get either I would draft a QB in the first and second rounds, and keep drafting one in the first until they find their franchise QB.

Brady won 7 of them.

Peyton Manning picked at #1 and won 2 SBs, Eli Manning was picked #1 and won 2 SBs, Stafford picked at 1 (1 SB), Mahomes (2 SBs) was taken at 10, Roethlisberger (2 SBs) was picked at 11. So yeah, other than Brady, it was a majority top picks who won SBs over the last 24 years. Rodgers and Flacco were also first rounders.

18 of the last 30 SB winning QB’s were 1st round picks, and Brady won 7. This means that aside from Brady only 5 QB’s drafted outside of the 1st round won a Lombardi.

In my view, most of the people wanting Maye or Williams only want Maye or Williams because the "experts" have told them those are the best two options. Let's see what the Senior Bowl, Combine etc bring us in terms of tape/measurables.

Daniels was the best player in college football this season, you seem to be making the Mike Mamula argument.

Also, it's not like it's just a couple of random draft experts who rank these guys highly. Just about every single college coaching staff, whose job it is to evaluate talent, wanted/offered Williams, Maye, and Daniels out of high school. They went on to perform very well at the college level as well.

If the Patriots are at four, both likely won't be gone.

Bears will take Williams
AZ-MHJ
Wsh-Maye/Daniels
NE-Get leftover from Maye/Daniels

The problem is "likely." That means no guarantees. AZ would be dumb to move down unless they get something crazy like three first rounders over the next few years or something. But...NE will never know and have to chance it that AZ won't trade down with a qb needy team.

The other "issue" is being at four or lower potentially increases the odds of trading out of that spot. Especially with Bill. Is this the draft to trade down? I definitely do not think so.

Tennessee is going to be an issue too if NE beat the Jets. I think they would get the strength of schedule victory.

I mean if the roster is massively improved around either of them I doubt it will be dog **** product. Say you resign Henry, draft a top WR, improve the OL and find a 3rd down back?

Mediocre product possibly. Competing for a wildcard spot possibly. But not dog **** IMO..

You know who performed well at the college level too? Mac Jones. So did Mitch trubisky, Caleb Williams and every other 1st round QB drafted in history of the NFL.

Maybe those guys pan out. And I'd like a shot at one of them. But fans need to stop acting like it's a sure thing those guys are going to be a stud.

The Mac Jones draft was hailed to be generational. All of them are busts and Lawrence is just OK. Not the generational prospect he was touted to be

Tennessee has Texans/Jags left.

I think Stroud will play. And Jags will have alot to play for.

I understand where you are coming from.

But isn't the bolded the issue? At last with 1-4 wins, fans can think of a high pick.

Going 8-9 does not do anything like that. It's purgatory in a way. Like Denver, Pittsburgh, and Saints are in.

You ignored the first part of my argument about every college coaching staff wanting these three guys. As I mentioned in another thread, Mac Jones was a three-star recruit and not heavily sought after. He got a late flyer offer from Bama and started for one year. Lance had no offers. Wilson had garbage offers. Fields had to transfer to start.

These three guys coming into the draft were wanted by everybody out of high school, have started every year in college and have won Heisman Trophies.

Unfortunately I think this takes Daniels out of reach for us, and the same goes for Maye, and it pisses me off. What a **** season, they lose when they need to win, and win when they need to lose. I don’t want Williams, I think New England is a terrible fit for him, he belongs in a dome. If the Draft goes the way I think it’s going to go then they are screwed, and we can look forward to years of losing. The optimism I had that they could fix QB in the Draft is pretty much gone. In other words your prediction is right, I think they ****ed themselves by winning that game,
This season was horrible enough in every respect to begin with (which was the last decade of poor talent acquisition in the making), but that they can't even secure a top 3 pick on top of it, has already set the team back an additional few years at minimum in trying to rebuild a legit contender. I also suspect that any decent HC and GM candidate might go elsewhere, or even stay where they are for the next year, rather than take the job with now having less of a chance to add significant talent through this years draft (especially a potential franchise QB).

Well I was mainly responding to the poster saying it would be dogshit product.

I'm of the opinion with Bill we are a middling team going .500 every year.

Given the number of injuries to key players, worst QB play you can ever see and some bad luck missing kicks had us in contention for a top 2 pick not really being a bottom 2 roster.

So it's disappointing to see it slip away. Chances of us being that high next year are slim

No question about it.
