NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 13: Other Games

It was pretty satisfying seeing the rare time a player has the balls to absolutely obliterate Mahomes on a hit when he's scrambling. That's precisely why so many defenders shy away from it. They know even if it's clean as a whistle, in bounds, etc.. it will end up getting flagged and hurt their team. So they ease up and he waddles his way for a 25 yard scramble at 2mph.

Chefs are gonna lose.
Mahomes needs better weapons
He had Kelce and Hill for the majority of his career. Top 3 TE and top 10 WR of all time. He still has one. Why is there an implication he's entitled to top end talent at all times? He took a massive contract and Hill was traded to help improve their OL and defense. He's not entitled to All Pros at every position. Brady made it work for numerous years in his career with the same tier of players as Toney, Watson, Moore, Rice, MVS. The difference is Mahomes can't elevate guys like Brady could.

In the Eagles game...it is absolutely ridiculous that "the Chief of security" for the eagles should be able to touch a star SF player and trigger a reaction and niners lose their starting linebacker.
That "head of security" should be banned from the field for the rest of the season.
So glad the niners kicked their ass.

I’m actually going to be rooting for the Pats to pull off the upset in two weeks. 3-14 isn’t gonna ruin the draft pick since we really don’t have a chance to get past the Panthers.

One last hurrah Bill, what do we say? Go all out to beat the Chiefs at home and ruin their playoff position.
The more losses the better, but if the Pats are going to win one I would definitely choose that one

It's insane this didn't get more attention. Because "Dom" tipped the announcers off to a restaurant they acted like it was just great

And a first down ends the game
Sure, but now you have a still relatively-inexperienced QB back in the pocket certainly trying hard to protect the ball, and also with the realization that an incomplete pass gives the Chiefs 40 more seconds to work the field. The Chiefs have a really great D coordinator, a fantastic defense this year, and one of the best interior pass rushers in the game - and no matter how much you hate them, no one can deny that they come up big when it matters.

So, with no one open, or open enough to take the chance, Love gets sacked. It was that or throw it away and give KC those 40 seconds.

Now a middle-range kick becomes a 48-yard FG at Lambeau at night in December, and if he misses, KC starts out at the 38.
You took an almost guaranteed 8-point lead with under 1:20 left, kicking off to an opponent with no time-outs and turned it into either the same situation (since he hit the kick), a 5-point lead with your opponent starting in good field position at their 38, or an 8-point lead kicking off to KC with almost 2 minutes left.

Look at the end of that game - KC had to throw sidelines twice (or throw it away) because they had no time to go anywhere else. Put 40 seconds back on that clock if Love had thrown an incomplete pass on 3rd down, and Mahomes can work the whole field from inside your 40 for three or four extra plays.

Being aggressive is one thing. Playing stupid clock management is something else. That was a stupid call.

Don’t mind the call would def rather seen love throw it away and save the 10 yards instead of making it a difficult fg attempt. Gotta make sure you get the 3 and an 8 pt lead even with 2 min instead of 1:20.
The end of that game would have been very different if the Chiefs had another 40 seconds. The Packers would have had to defend deep, of course, and also the middle of the field. It's very likely Mahomes would have had a couple of plays from the red zone. Also, Green Bat's best WR was OUT at that point.

The best thing about a Chiefs loss? Chiefsplanet the next day. Enjoy!

Missed the game but watching that play this morning: Mahomes was running like "Well no one on defense will dare touch me so I'm juts gonna scoot up the sidelines for an exra ten yar ...BAM"

Yes. That is why IMO his career will be cut shorter than most think. He takes so many silly hits. He totally stopped on the sideline, begging to be hit.

For ****s sake. It’s not dirty. He’s a runner!!!!!

In bounds and a 100% Clean hit but gotta throw a flag there cause Kermit. I never want to hear anyone talk about Brady getting flags again... he was never getting flags like this.

Especially because he's RIGHT at the down marker, the defender has to hit him to prevent the first down. If he's not allowed to hit him then what? He just walks up and says "yes yes right here Mr. Mahomes, please cross the line to gain here and then gently step out of bounds, thank you"? But what if Mahomes decides to cut back upfield again because the defender isn't using force? At what point is he allowed to hit? Makes zero sense.

If us fans can tell the difference between a clean hit and a dirty hit it shouldn't be hard for the refs to do the same. Hopefully teams will be lobbying the competition committee to put an end to that crap. I bet if Mahomes made the same hit there would be no flag. Lol
