A day 3 pick on a kicker who makes it to a second contract is worth it. A day 3 pick on a kicker who doesn't is a wasted pick.

Bill picked a kicker that didn't even make the league.

People questioned when Belichick took Chad Ryland in the fourth round because it was really high to take a kicker. But it is extremely high to take a kicker who cannot kick field goals.

Gostkowski missed four <40-yard FGs his rookie season.

My guess is Ryland will get another shot next year, but there'll be competition.

people in here think losing games and getting a rookie QB for next season is some recipe to get back in the playoffs next season or at least be respectable. The ******* coach has formed a team with NO top end talent on either side of the ball. does Caleb Williams or Drake Maye turn this into a 10 win team throwing to JuJu Sanu, Davante Parker, Douglas, aand Thornton?
And know what, if this dip **** coach is still here, I say there's no guarantee he starts a rookie QB.

I don't know because this year they lost 6 games by 1 score with horrible QB play, they'd probably have 7 wins with CJ Stroud as QB.
Raiders, Commanders, Colts and Giants are all wins for sure which is 6-5 and in the playoffs.
They would not be Super Bowl Contenders but based on this year they'd be in the playoffs right now.
They also have some money to spend in free agency and would have a high pick in round 2 and round 3 to maybe add WR and OT.
You ABSOLUTELY Can not win regularly without a top 10-15 QB. They don't have that so that is the first thing they need to get.
Defense is solid, offense is putrid, start with the QB and go from there.

It's clear a lot of this team doesn't care. But all of the coaches. Fire them all!

Glad I didn’t watch most of the first half… probably shouldn’t have watched any of it. Offense looked more confident in the second half but if they can’t muster more than 7 against the Giants then don’t know what the point is.

They have talent on defense. Offense? Outside of Douglas and Stephenson- nothing.

Bears have that pick and could drafting Williams, Maye or Harrison Jr. I think a lot depends on how Fields finishes the season.

It was one play and it was his second read. And it was an easy read to make since Thornton had a step on his man. Show me a play where he has to quickly go down multiple check downs and find a receiver in a more difficult coverage.

Whether or not you like Zappe. And no he's not a great QB by any means, maybe not even a good one...

When all is said and done Zappe came within a Chad Ryland choked 35 yard gimme field goal from taking us into OT!

So all things being equal, Zappe still gives us a better chance to win than Mac "Interception" Jones!

That being said, maybe the whole point now should be to LOSE more games for a higher draft pick!

In that case, by all means, let's run out your boy Mac Jones until the Cows come home!

This was a gimme game for almost any other team in the league. Not NE.

Been time to look ahead - for the decision makers - for a month now. And it should escalate by the week.
