See what he can do. We have a 2 game sample thus far
Who cares? He's not the QB of the future. This is what's dumb about the Zappe discourse. It means nothing. He's never shown he's better than Mac, but even if he marginally is... that's not good enough. He probably shouldn't even be the back up if we draft a rookie QB this year. A veteran should do that.

It's so weird watching the obsession over this dude.

My sister is in Southern Maine in a wooded area and she had a ton of them this year.
We were loaded and predictable until late September....the does have been living in the oaks and barely leaving, just starting to show back up on our green plots

I think Mac has a better shot to be back next year over zappe

It's him, Grier or Cunningham, who do you propose? I'd like to see Grier myself.
It doesn't matter. None of them are going to be the QB of the future or the starter next year. If they even attempt that, the coaching staff should be fired into a cannon. It makes no difference who the starter the rest of the way is, it might as well be Mac. You are playing for a draft pick now and to move onto a new era. There's nothing to see anymore. These guys all stink.

It's not about proposing anything. You could flip a coin at this point. The best of the four can be our third string QB. Draft a rookie and get a vet to back him up or start a few games before we let him go.

People need to just accept the team is trash, the season is over, there's no point right now in looking for one of the duds on the bench to be some Tom Brady like savior.

Well, thanks for thinking of me once again (as usual). It should be Mount Corky, don't you think? But don't let little details like that and my Mac criticisms wreck your imaginary narrative. Seems you're thrilled with the loss, though.

By the way, how's your Zappe campaign going?
To you it's Mount Corky. To me it's Mound Corky.

Mac might just because he's still on his rookie contract and they probably won't get good trade value for him. But he's not going to be the priority next year. Only slight chance he has is if Bill or the next regime thinks its better to trade and get a haul for our draft picks and get Marvin Harrison and try to load up on lineman and WR's before drafting a QB next year. But that's a tough sell.

How is it an obsession to say give him or grier a shot? Mac is broken, we have nothing to gain from playing him rest of the way.

We have an 8 game preseason coming up. See what you have in one of the other qbs and boutte/thornton. The fact that some of you need to call it an obsession when people are simply suggesting someone else deserves a chance to start is pretty telling. Bb just yanked mac in a one score game, i dont think its such a stetch to try a new starter too.

I think they might fix a lot of other holes via FA and draft, and either add a later round draft pick, vet, or both...and have both/3 in camp

It matters for the rest of this year, who would you like to see out of that lot? that's our choices.

Because they couldn't beat out Mac despite having the opportunity to do so. Zappe had his shot last year. He crapped the bed when he played in the same game as Mac and he had a chance to steal the job for good. THEY SUCK.

Yeah it's an obsession. Zappe nor Mac nor any of these clowns should be part of the equation next year. It's just desperate fans hoping there is some magic on the bench. It's irrelevant at this point and shows that our fanbase is still looking for some saving grace because they can't accept how fundamentally broken this team is.

Here's reality, of the 4 QB's on the roster, 3 should be cut. We draft a rookie and pick up an old vet. Either the rookie starts. If the rookie isn't ready and they think he needs time to marinate, you either start the vet or the holdover who we kept for a few games until the rookie is ready. Either way, that holdover should be on borrowed time regardless.

The fact that you are saying we need to "see" and someone "deserves a chance" is pretty telling that you are grasping on to straws. If one of these four guys is our top QB going into next year, then the franchise should be blown up. That's just the long and short of it.

The rest of the year is about a draft pick. It doesn't matter who it is. In fact, whoever is the worst should be playing. A tank commander should be on the field. Throw in Cunningham if he's as bad as everyone thinks so we can find a way out of the Giants game without picking up an unneccessary win. Tank commader vs tank commander.

There's nobody to "see" out of that lot. It's just about the draft and what sets us up most for it. These guys are all irrelevant. Mac included.

Grasping onto straws? Cmon man. The season is over. There is nothing to grasp at here when you might as well use this opportunity to evaluate what you have. If you’re already conceding that mac shouldn’t be starting for us next year you should also be willing to admit there’s nothing additional to gain by playing him over the other guys.

You seriously want one of these guys to be our starter next year or our primary back up for a rookie? Really?

Why are you being mean I’m telling you zappy smurf is taking the job in week 5. Book it. Stone. Cold. Lock.

Idk, will Mac be ok being a placeholder and eventual backup to our new rookie qb? I think it may be best for all involved to give Mac a fresh start somewhere else.

Use these remaining games to see if Zappe or Grier have what it takes to be a backup here for the 2024 season.
