I get the very strong impression that Gronk does not love the Patriots like, say, Tedi Bruschi or even Rodney Harrison.

Yeah I definitely feel like some celebrations are stupid these days, but not sure how anyone can have a problem with that one. Its the first time since the Brady days that we’ve beaten a really tough opponent that wasnt marred by injuries (tennessee 21) or severe weather (ravens 20, bills 21). That was also the season on the line pretty much. Of course theyd be ecstatic

Seriously, it was practically a walk-off touchdown that (for one week at least) may have saved their season. I definitely cringe when I see guys making dramatic first down gestures when they make a 12 yard catch and their team is down by 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. THAT looks lame. But a game winning score against a division rival? They can do whatever they want!

I don't know that Hopkins would want to go to a 2-5 team that also has one of the toughest schedules in the league is all I'm saying.

I didn't mention it, but I could see KC being willing to trade for him. Same with Indy (though I doubt the Titans would send him there). I could see Seattle, Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, and Tampa being interested in him.. It all depends on what the Titans can get from a team that Hopkins wants to go to.
Yeah I could definitely see a playoff team being interested because the 2023 cap hit would be less than $1M. They could also then cut him after the season since his 2024 salary is not guaranteed - he has a $4M bonus that is not due until a few days into the new league year. So he could in effect be a very cheap half-year rental. Go to KC, play well and show himself off, hit free agency again and cash in bigger than he did this year. I could see something like that happening.

On the other side though, if he doesn't show well adapting to a new scheme in a half-season or gets hurt then there's no guarantee he gets the salary he's currently set for next year. So going somewhere that's more likely to pay that second year could make sense too.

He sounds like a guy who took it personally that Belichick wanted to trade him to Detroit.

Who knows how much other shenanigans Gronk wanted to get into but was told "NO" by management/ownership.

After thinking about it, Gronk might just be pissed that the Pats beat his favorite team. He's from the Buffalo area.

Didn't Bruschi and Law say the other day that Bill should retire? That would make them anti-Belichick haters according to many here.

Gronk on the other hand said Pats need to stick with Mac. Hardly an anti-Pats take.

I have said that he should retire. He's got nothing to prove, and Tedi is right, Shula is irrelevant.

Not sure how I feel about this. I know Bill says football players play football but this seems like unnecessarily dialing up the injury risk on a guy who is an injury magnet.

could also mean he's not providing enough value at his drafted position, so they're trying to find more ways to justify his roster spot

thats a bit more of a pessimistic view, but it is odd that they have him on ST all the sudden mid season after 2 years of injury
