Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Not sure why people are dismissing this just because Mac didn’t say it himself. This is the kind of thing Bill loathes most of all. He was pissed Mac simply called outside the building for offensive help last year. Someone close to him talking **** about the roster he’s currently on is worse. Not a good look, and won’t endear him to his teammates - a group he desperately needs to win back if he wants to keep his job.

To me, it feels like controlling the narrative by a dude who knows he’s about to see the bench or the transaction wire.

He could very well have. I just leave the possibility it was said without his knowledge.

The thing is it is a bad look for him either way. What team is going to want a QB who is going to the media complaining how their GM/coach built the team and crapping on his teammates.

Whether Mac said similar words or not, the players and specifically his receivers will not take this kind of thing lightly.

That’s who he is stuck with right now, he’s gotta try to build trust and faith with these guys. This does the exact opposite and it’s demoralizing for all involved.

It isn‘t good for him with his teammates, coaches, and any potential suitors for him if and when he leaves the Patriots.

Lmao now people are going to act like Mac said it. "Source close to Mac" wtf is that

It’s really not hard to believe that Mac is expressing frustration with his receivers to his confidants and saying negative things.

It would be more surprising if he wasn’t. That it got out is a bad look.

I figured out the cheat code for journalists

Just get any dumb idiot to physically stand a couple feet from Mac Jones, then you can say "I have a source who's very close to Mac Jones that says this all started when Mac banged Bill's chick Linda"

dont want to rephrase aaron rodgets, but this isnt the time to be pointing fingers . Somehow his leadership has righted the jets ship for now. Who is that guy on our team.

Highly doubt this is true. The whole groceries term is so related to former Parcells and it stinks of anonymous sources.

The offense is cooked though. Mac isn’t the guy and it as obvious as can be. He can’t even make a simple out throw to sideline without everyone in the stadium holding their breath, worrying about a pick 6. You can’t be a NFL qb without that throw.

If we’re gonna ask Mac to cook the meal, we outta let him shop for the groceries.
At this point if Mac tried cooking the meal by calling Dominoes the neighbors would be eating pizza after intercepting the delivery.

One of Ian's posts concerning Zappe vs Mac's stats last week got me thinking about Mac's scoring vs turnover percentage.

It looks like Mac is statistically more likely to turn the ball over himself than lead the team on a scoring drive (not a team turnover, but a Mac Jones turnover via INT, fumble loss, or an incomplete 4th down throw).

I couldn't find Mac's 4th down conversion % so I gave him the benefit of the doubt that his 2/6 completion rate on 4th down resulted in 2 conversion (the Patriots are tied for worst in the league at a 25% 4th down conversion rate: NFL Football Stats - NFL Team Fourth Down Conversion Percentage | TeamRankings.com).

Mac has 6 INTs, 2 fumbles lost, and is 2/6 on 4th down completions (11 turnovers) *Edit: 1 of those INTs was thrown on 4th down*: Mac Jones Career Stats - NFL - ESPN. This doesn't include bad throws leading to fumbles by other players, such as Zeke's fumble against the Eagles.

The Patriots' offense has only scored 10 times (6 TDs, 4 FGs): NFL.com | Official Site of the National Football League

Mac's 5 TDs to 3 pick sixes also make him only 40% more likely to throw a TD than a pick six. Can't recall if Mac had any fumbles lost for TDs.

Completely insane through 5 games.

mac is 2/7 on 4th down conversions this season

mac ate a sack/fumbled in the dallas game, vander esch recovered, and scooted in for 6

edit: @Jlaff his splits can be found here

If Mac is not happy with the Groceries and him thinking he isn't a problem himself then I have one thing to say ....

"Source close to Mac".. Players agent blames everyone but his client shocker.
He didn't lob the ball 4 yards like a little girl for the 1st TD because of the talent around him. He did it because he fell to pieces.
