Did anyone notice if Hines played? I haven’t seen his name mentioned at all since camp started, so I’m assuming he’s already circling the drain. Ugh.
Yes, I saw him. He was in on that last drive, so he was running behind Malik. Not sure what that means. Is he really worse than our 2nd stringers?

I was hoping McDermott would be up for this game but based on a couple of media reports he was poor (even though some of his plays were at left tackle apparently)
I was mad to see McDermott at LT - he's maybe our best bet at RT for week 1 OL, so why not get him more reps there before the season. Especially since we were fielding a collection of rubbish across the whole line anyway. Sure, they want to see if he can provide value at swing Tackle, I get it, but it didn't do much for anyone's confidence.

I don't know what anyone saw last night from him that would be fueling the mania this morning.

Was pretty consistent with training camp reports. Check down king.

He’s a type who can be a stop gap starter that won’t burn the house down.
But this is exactly what I have been disagreeing about. He missed so many assignments last year, and he was just a block out there. Whn defenders took him straight on, he seemed to hold his own a lot of the time. Whenever anyone ripped inside and took the edge, he whiffed again and again and again. I don't seem him as a capable NFL backup.

Which is why I had so much hope that Anderson and Rieff would help us.

Praying that Mafi can get up to speed now so that Onwenu can take the RT position.

I get that it's backups and about seeing certain players perform. But they are also playing against other backups and scrubs

And we got our @$$es handed to us. Not good. The OL looks like a problem.

I saw just one thing bad from him. He had Thornton isolated well downfield with one CB on a double move, he went to heave it, but pulled it back. Had plenty of time. Ended up with nothing. Other than that, I saw nothing that would give me concern for a backup QB.

Right. It’s sort of what most people have been saying all along, which is that the line is an injury or two away from being a nightmare.

The hope is that some of these third-string backups, playing next to starters, with blocking TE help, might be enough to hold together.

1. BoneyT gives us a tease.

2. White is going to be a NICE addition.

3. Anybody call in a wellness check for Klemm?

With respect to Denny Green and realizing that it was 99% scrubinis out there, the Pats are who we thought they were. Oline problems, pretty solid defense (one of the TD's wss a ridiculous catch that doesnt get caught 9 times out of 10) special teams was okay.

Still not much to take away from this other than, the Pats better hope they don't have a rash of injuries on the Oline...

Looks fine for a backup. Didn't turn the ball over, had a nice completion percentage.

I meant more for the "start zappe!" Crowd that has dominated this board. He didn't do anything particularly "bad" like fumbles and picks. But he didn't exactly do anything amazing other than check down and "not" throw picks

Kieon White is a dude.

Trace McSorely is not.

Barringer uncorked a nice punt from his goal line, following up a shank.

Zappe. Meh.

Cunningham, not meh.

A bad OL is a death knell for any offense. Can't create holes for the backs, QB constantly under duress and not enough time for the receivers to get open.

Hopefully they can pull something together because we are facing some good defenses this year.

Bill spent a 4th round pick on Sow who they could have probably had as an UDFA with this profile

"Missing the fundamentals"... oof.

Bill or whoever the next GM is... it's time to start paying up for real talent up front not invest picks or $ for projects.

Those weaknesses are all the sorts of things that Scar was a Mr Miyagi at coaching up. Can Klemm do it?
