It's early and it's expected that the defense would have the upper hand at this point, especially considering they are both the better unit and are returning more players, and obviously I'm not concerned yet, but one thing that bugs me is having a team full of tall receivers and still going to Ty Montgomery so much in the redzone. They have struggled since 2020 just throwing the ball into the endzone and that's something I want to see worked on, not little dump offs to the back so he can try to run it in.

I like what Brown's cooking.

Conditioning run? Has it been performed already?
Yep. No pass = No practice.

Since we didn't see anyone sit out practice or hit the bikes.....I think everyone passed except for the guys on NFI/PUP.

Huge crowds, weather not as bad as advertised..
As mentioned Ryland first on the field..
Judon is a huge crowd favorite, with good reason
The pre practice was different than I have seen before, felt like a minor league baseball game.
Interview with Mike Reiss was spot on
Lots of subtle upgrades for the fans at the practice facility
Lots of action, no pads, too early to tell all that much except it was good to breathe the rarified air of Gillette..
The announcer, whose name escapes me, tries to make the mundane exciting, most of the time he fails, makes a lot of noise though.

We are going to have take shots from outside against good Teams we are playing a lot of them. Get two scores behind and it's game over.

Yeah...he basically said he needs to be pushed to play hard. Hopefuly Klemm provides that fire. Patricia was very hands off.

"Trent Brown said he loves the fire that Bill O'Brien and Adrian Klemm bring to the coaching staff. "I think it's necessary ... I think it's needed"

I don't disagree, but something to keep in mind this early is that they're probably working on very specific things to start camp off, and that's not just for the offense. They could be working on defending those kinds of dump offs, or they could be asking Mac to go through all of his progressions so that the defense has to work on handing off receivers and the O-Line has to account for stunts, etc. Without knowing the intent behind the drill each rep, it's hard to take much away from it, other than hey, football's back!

There's an actual announcer there, trying to influence fan reaction? I never thought about one being there at all...

Sure, but it's a trend, not only the result of this specific drill. The over reliance on throws to the backfield when the field shortens has been an issue for years now. Mac can do that, it's everything else they need to work on. Especially when the first pass is picked off targetting Gesicki down the seam and then it's the Ty Montgomery fest. No, keep at it, use those guys, put the ball up for them to get it.
