2023 UDFA thread

Obsessing over UDFA's is ridiculous. First off, most of these guys will be camp cuts, secondly those that don't fit one squad could surely fit another team's needs. Every friggin' season it's the same thing...waaah waaah waaah Team X took one of our UDFA's!!, followed by"we signed some UDFA cut by team Z...BB is an idiot!". IF even one or two UDFA's make a roster in the NFL THAT is pretty damn good or denotes a team's lack of talent through the 53 man roster.
I thinks it’s more about unhappiness with Belichick’s draft strategy and hoping the positions that were ignored, are filled one way or another. For instance, there are times Belichick has done better in UDFA than the actual draft. So you might feel UDFA is not important, Belichick has fixed his mistakes in UDFA. Some example, Jakobi Meyers wound up being better than 2019 first round pick N’Keal Harry. Thank god we signed Jakobi in 2019, Harry was a massive bust.

The year we signed CB JC Jackson, in 2018, thank god we did, because we drafted Duke Dawson in the 2nd round, Dawson being one of the biggest busts of all time. Jackson went on to be selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021, and signed a big contract in 2022, Dawson was out of the league in 2 years.

So you might think it’s silly, but several of these UDFA will wind up being better than draftees.

I don't think it's silly...I think it's YOU that's silly. Those UDFA's you mention, when exactly did YOU run to the UDFA thread from those years and state their names? I posted that teams usually hit on one or two UDFA's a season...but to obsess like a godamned shut-in and blurt out your disappointment over UDFA's is flat out NONSENSE!

Bagent was kind of a binky for me, but I also liked Cunningham. Talented in his own right, but fill a need in my opinion. These days your really need an RPO kind of QB for your scout team. Good looks in practice make for good play on Sunday.

I remember reading some nice things about Ojukwu too, he was another guy that got drafted a lot in mocks

Wanted him, his dad played here for a bit.
Yeah, me too, but we added White to a solid group that's already here. So I don't think this would have been good spot. But REALLY surprised he wasn't drafted.

Cunningham is probably a WR candidate, but Alabama recruited him as a safety and the idea of converting a college QB to defense sounds way more entertaining to me.
#3 QB is fine with me

For me, the positions with a chance are QB, TE and ST's.

I don't see WR or CB considering how many we drafted.
I just looked at the roster. I don't think that even Belichick will add a STer other than drafting competition at K, P, KR and PR.
===========
We have STO's
Slater
Schooler
Mitchell
Board (addition)
Davis (back from injuries)

Also, other players with over 50% of the ST reps include
Tavai
McMillan
Wilson
Peppers

#2 QB would be even better...really sick of the Zappe distraction crap we've had to endure all last year. Cunningham is the far superior athlete

I try not to incite the posters too much.
I also would be very happy if Cunningham moves up to #2.

Can someone create a Pats only UDFA thread that only concerns actual signings?
