Why you ask?

Read:

Yup. Sign the Beast just to piss off Asante "Drops The Easy Int" Samuel. Im all in. Hook, Line and the mofo Sinker

Two first rounders? Not an issue.

Big Contract? Model it on Mahomes deal, Kick the can down the road if needed.

I don't want Lamar Jackson. He hasn't been consistent since winning MVP. He hasn't played a full season in the last 3 years. 2 1st rounders and 50+ mil a year are not worth it for an inconsistent injury-prone QB/RB.

He has elite skills—a cannon arm and superhero quickness—but with his likelihood of using his running ability he’ll keep getting injured.

no one is going to pay Jackson $50M a year.

Love the tweet reply about jumping at the opportunity. :D Some people won't get it but we do!

I really don't want to be this guy, but... this couldn't have been posted in one of the TWO other Lamar Jackson threads?
No it couldn't.

If BB is okay with hamstringing the team with a massive salary and a short shelf life we'd still be talking about Tom Brady as a Patriot.
You either win with top tier QB on his rookie deal or you win with paying a top tier QB at top tier $. The glory days of Tom Brady are long gone, the team friendly contracts, the supreme clutch play compensating for roster deficiencies elsewhere, are not happening anymore. So either build an awesome supporting cast around Mac and pray he doesn't **** it up or figure out a way to trade for a top tier football player like Lamar (for significant compensation) and pay him top tier money. That's how it works in the NFL 2023.

eh.

Brady left the building long time ago.

There are a few among the patsfans throng who won't let us forget it... in every single thread that hits the boards... over and over and over for three or four years now... in football parlance its called being a fan i suppose... in real life its called "exhibiting stalker-like tendencies"

Gee, I wonder why the Baltimore Ravens are miffed that Lamar Jackson turned down their offer of $133 million guaranteed? This is insanity.

Stick with Mac Jones, keep an eye on the veteran comings and goings for a backup, and continue to invest in areas of need. The draft is coming up and that's how the championship teams were constructed.

Huh, I never thought of it that way...

Counterpoint: Yes it could.

I stand corrected. Without this thread, people would be robbed of our historic debate.

Give me the former. I'm not averse to prayer.

I have not engaged in a single Brady debate. I'm pointing out the way BB views his team in regard to money and an eye on the future.
