any capologists know what wed be on the hook for if trading for courtland sutton? From trying to pull the #s off over the cap it seems like a pretty cheap deal but i might be doing it wrong .

Jeudy would be cheap year 1 but very expensive beyond and he’ll likely want an extension off the bat.

Sutton is not a true game breaker like Jeudy has the ability to be.
It would be as close to getting Mac his Jamar Chase.
We would be like the off brand Bengals oh god that’s depressing as I’m typing that.
Mac is a great value Joe Burrow.

Sutton is $14M fully guaranteed plus $500k in per-game roster bonuses. Too much money for any kind of worthwhile trade value.

Im trying to do a better job understanding the cap myself. I believe that only the salary and the likely to be earned bonuses are transferred to a new team when a player is traded. So any signing bonus proration stays with the original team.

Due to this I believe a team that traded for him would be on the hook for 14 mm this year, 13 mm next year then 13.5 mm the last year of his deal. He has 500k in roster bonuses each year but I’m not sure how much of that is likely to be earned and this counts against the cap immediately. I would love to have someone more knowledgeable about this check my numbers.

lots of really good CBs in the draft

seems like an unusually high amount of larger CBs too, no 5'8" slot corners.. its all 6'+, tall, rangy CBs with long arms and are fast

Oh yeah? Ive heard the opposite lol but admittedly haven’t seen a ton of either. Seems sutton would be slightly cheaper on the financials around $14m per .

Thanks , thats around what i had figured aside from one of the years where it looked like his dead cap exceeded denvers savings. According to another reply the 14m sounds right
