What if we drafted a WR at 14 and turned out to be a clone of Jeudy. I think some of us would be ok with that.

That said….trading a 1st rounder for a 1 year rental is not wise.

No. And I bet Jeudy will ultimately be traded for less than a first. Just because the Broncos are saying they won’t give him up for anything less than a first, that doesn’t mean they won‘t ultimately give him him for less than a first.

When they ask for a 1st they’ll take a 2nd.

No. You can get a top WR at 14 and have 5 years under a rookie contract. I stead of 2 with Jeudy

We haven't developed a WR in over a decade. Our WR corp is bottom 10-15. Worst in the division. QB coming off a down year and will be coming up for a contract. Down year in the draft. Some of you are unrealistic about solving this problem.
Jeudy is 23, coming from a garbage offense with no QB. If you're willing to give up a 2nd for Hop it makes no sense being against Jeudy at 14. Same for Higgins. Be honest none of you would've given up 14 for Higgins at the start of the year but by December/January almost everyone was for it after a little convincing :)

Like Higgins, Jeudy is underutilized and could take on a larger role in terms of targets. JJ has missed some time but like Higgins. He's a 1250-1325/8 WR with 150-160 targets in a full year. Neither have had more than 110 targets

Also paying/signing Jeudy once he's here is a good thing not a bad thing. The idea is to collect good players. 14 isnt ideal and id ask for Surtain first but you have to pay for good players. Esp young WR that haven't entered their prime. 14 is a little too high but would you do it for 25? Worrying about 10-15 draft spots isn't it and everyone knows established players > draft prospects all day long. Twice on Sunday.

Once Rodgers is a jete we're at the bottom of our division or fighting for our life for 8 + wins with no margin for error.

Another note regarding value and the draft. There are few, very few prospects worth the 14th overall pick this year. So there's a good chance you're reaching slightly on a tackle or WR or trading back. Trust me I'm not offering up 14 for the taken. I'd ask about Surtain + Jeudy for 14 & 46 + 6th. Something like that or Surtain and Sutton for 14 + 3rd + 6th. I'm just saying I'd definitely think about it and you have to be willing to be flexible.

I asked this months ago but would you do it for Higgins, Pittman, Aiyuk or Terry? Lamb would cost a 1st + some from Dallas.

a 2nd this year and a conditional 4th in 24 is the upper end of what we should pay for him.
Trading a high first rounder would be ridiculous.
The Pats could really use him though.

Which WR is as good as Jeudy or truly worth a top 15 pick in this draft? I won't have any with a real 1st RD grade. I'd be willing to bend with QJ. Maybe JSN if we had a true outside threat but it's a weaker class.

Who would you want?

It's certainly an interesting thought. It's a bad draft year for the top-15. Jeudy is the best receiver who is theoretically available. He runs good routes, he separates well, he's got a complete skill set. He is someone who has to be accounted for. His bread and butter is stuff that is congruent with Mac's skillset. He's also the first legitimate flanker they will have put on the field in a very long time. Flanker is the centerpiece of a receiving group and I don't believe it is possible to field a potent attack without one. Put whatever iteration of the annual jump ball Magoo they want at x, JuJu in the slot, Jeudy at the z and that's a pretty darn solid receiver group.

Conversely, man, those sweet trade down tendies look so delicious...

We just got rid of Patricia, and now we want to add a Judy?

Give me some manly names. Is there a WR named Rock Hardon or Chuck Steak available?
They could draft Michael Mayer. He is just an “s” away from being an indestructible terror.

You're praying OB takes Mac to top 10 QB territory and Thornton is a low-end WR1 by years end. Realistically that looks like the worst WR/TE group in our division.
This isn’t gonna do it in the afc especially with the o line only depth but not quality improved while Mac is a qb we need to surround with weapons to be competitive with top tier afc competition
Actually the team has only resigned their only free agents or signed depth guys so far with juju maybe a slight improvement over Meyers but we all know how WR perform here in their first Season
Ergo We haven’t improved at any position group to last year , DB got worse as of now
I know it’s plenty time but which outside cb with size, LB and quality Starter OT is available right now

Yes

with the following caveat

@Ross12 suggested this - trade 14, get something in return for 14 (a 1st next year? i dunno... draft experts can weigh in on the relative value of 14 ) then trade the newly acquired lower 1st or next years pick, provided you can make that type of deal

Atleast a 1st rounder is the supposed ask. It appears every fourth post on this board right now seem to be hope for Jeudy, even after the Smith-Schuster add. Would you do it?
I'd do a 2nd in a minute for him..

My question is are we relying on the draft or FA to improve the team? From reports I've listened to from Curran and perry team feels as BOB will be the difference with the offense... curious
