My math is off. He's 25-25 in regular season, 25-26 if you count the WC loss.27-28

Same difference. My math is off. He's 25-25 in regular season, 25-26 if you count the WC loss.
With ButlerGilmore CB1. Butler CB2. That's more accurate. But the problem with SB 52 was Butler DNP (coach's decision).
You are only discounting it from belichick.Same difference.
The playoff loss counts.
Are we discounting Brady's 5-2 postseason record with a Lombardi? **** no.
You're glossing over the main point in the argument. Butler's "demotion" was THE change. A dramatic change from the team's previous 55 games that Butler started consecutively prior to the SUPER BOWL.With Butler
Gilmore cb1
Butler cb 2
Rowe cb 3
Bademosi cb4
After Butler was demoted
Gilmore cb1
Rowe cb2
Bademosi cb3
Butler cb4
Nothing else changed. Cb3 played 11 snaps. Cb4 played 0.
What exactly is there to discount from Belichick as a head coach without Brady? You are only discounting it from belichick.
Yeah, Butler was the problem... one of the worst starting CB's in the NFL in 2017.Gilmore CB1. Butler CB2. That's more accurate. But the problem with SB 52 was Butler DNP (coach's decision).
Yes, we now agree. There wasn’t “chaos” and players playing out of positionYou're glossing over the main point in the argument. Butler's "demotion" was THE change. A dramatic change from the team's previous 55 games that Butler started consecutively prior to the SUPER BOWL.
You are discounting the majority of his career as if it didn’t happen. What exactly is there to discount from Belichick as a head coach without Brady?
Fine he sucked all year. Why did he play all year if he sucked so much only to finally be pulled and replaced by even less proven players? Kind of a weird to put them out there in the Superbowl to see what they got. It didn't work out is all I knowYeah, Butler was the problem... one of the worst starting CB's in the NFL in 2017.
It wasn't the losing these guys right before/during the playoffs:
Our single best defender in Donta Hightower.
Our 350 starting Nose Tackle in Alan Branch
Our starting nickel CB in Jon Jones
Our starting SS in Patrick Chung in the first quarter with his backup already missing due to injury.
In 2017 Butler gave up six touchdowns in coverage, tying for third-most in the NFL at the CB position, while also yielding the 11th-most yards at 698 and ranking 108th in yards after the catch at 233. He got smoked by Jay Cutler and let a 5'7" sixth round pick destroy him... then had the gall to blame the coaching staff in a tweet.

He refused to work with Gilmore to start the season because he felt he deserved that money, he was a malcontent all season then screwed his teammates over leading up to the biggest game of the season. He sucked all season. After Gilmore started manning up Alshon Jeffrey the Eagles didn't pass much anyway except to their TE Zach Ertz... because Chung left the game and Ebner was already injured. They rushed the ball for 164 yards at nearly 7 yards per attempt... how was a CB going to fix that?
You're a BB hater, and despite what you think he can't prevent injuries.... that's Tom's witch doctor.
Butler sucked in 2017, got overpaid by Tennessee who regretted his contract almost instantly, they benched him for nickel CB Adoree Jackson. Now he's out of the league. He has BB to thank for being the only GM in the entire league to call him his rookie year... literally the only person that called. I liked the kid, but he was so overrated because of great scheme it wasn't funny.
You are discounting the majority of his career as if it didn’t happen.
Top 4 NFL Head Coaches of the Super Bowl Era (not necessarily in order)
Bill Belichick
The resumé is undeniable. Namely 9 Conference Championships and 6 Super Bowl rings... both are the most ever. His knowledge of the game and his awareness from the sideline are impressive. His two greatest achievements as a head coach are SB 36 and SB 53. The obvious knock on Belichick is his lack of success as a head coach without Brady. The SB 52 debacle is his low point. Belichick will likely catch Shula for all-time combined wins but I he may not catch Shula in regular season wins. But he will surpass Dan Reeves in regular season losses.
Butler started 55 consecutive games at CB. Played 98% of snaps. But apparently Belichick didn't think Butler was good enough for even 1 defensive snap in game 56... THE ****ING SUPER BOWL!Fine he sucked all year. Why did he play all year if he sucked so much only to finally be pulled and replaced by even less proven players? Kind of a weird to put them out there in the Superbowl to see what they got. It didn't work out is all I know
Imagine how awful he must have been preparing for the game for belichick to completely lose confidence in him.Butler started 55 consecutive games at CB. Played 98% of snaps. But apparently Belichick didn't think Butler was good enough for even 1 defensive snap in game 56... THE ****ING SUPER BOWL!
It didn’t make one iota of difference in the game… once Gilmore switched to man coverage on Alshon Jeffrey their WR’s did next to nothing.Fine he sucked all year. Why did he play all year if he sucked so much only to finally be pulled and replaced by even less proven players? Kind of a weird to put them out there in the Superbowl to see what they got. It didn't work out is all I know
Butler wasn’t good that season and was never good again. He was terrible on the Titans, they benched him also… to allow a nickel CB to start.Butler started 55 consecutive games at CB. Played 98% of snaps. But apparently Belichick didn't think Butler was good enough for even 1 defensive snap in game 56... THE ****ING SUPER BOWL!
That's a bold claim that it made no difference. Removing your starter had no impact? Really? And since when is keeping a player that sucks in there all year just so he doesn't hurt his free agency opportunities a sound coaching move? What happened to giving your team the best chance to win every week? Look it. I'm all on board that BB is the goat coach but that decision to bench Butler in that Superbowl was wrong. I've tried to give him every benefit the doubt but I haven't seen a convincing argument to change my mindIt didn’t make one iota of difference in the game… once Gilmore switched to man coverage on Alshon Jeffrey their WR’s did next to nothing.
BB wasn’t going to bench Butler in a free agency year, that wouldn’t have gone over well in the locker room. The big mistake BB made was not trading Butler to the Saints who offered a 2nd before the draft.
How many of those were inside the numbers in zone coverage?Agholor in that Super Bowl:
9 catches on 11 targets 84 yards
It’s almost like the defense was missing someone important…
What's the numbers of W/L with and without Brady as HC now?
Belichick with Brady
18 Seasons
17 Division Titles
30 Postseason Wins
9 Conference Championships
6 Super Bowl Championships
Belichick without Brady
10 Seasons
0 Division Titles
1 Postseason Win
