The Eagles should have pushed the guy into the end zone

I wonder sometimes if that's the best thing to do. They have a guaranteed 7, sure more time on the clock for Philly but you have 7. What if the FG misses or gets blocked? I've never seen it happen so not sure it has but I wonder if that's the percentage play.

A blocked or missed FG means OT.

I said i the game thread they should have onside kicked it after tying the game and I wasn’t joking . That way even if kc scores youlll have plenty time to tie it up. Their defense showed no signs of adjusting or stepping up to the plate should’ve figured at the very least kc was getting into fg range regardless of where they started.

This is gonna be painful so faint of heart stop reading. You'd probably could of said the same thing when they played us.

This might not be thread worthy, but what the hell it's a slow week

Was thinking about the end of the game, when Philly was letting KC score so they'd get the ball back with the chance to tie. The KC runner nearly screwed up and went in, but he caught himself at the last minute. Led me to think, if the Eagles had thought about it beforehand, they could have been ready to shove him into the endzone. Sort of a 4th & 1 quarterback sneak in reverse.

Actually, could they do that? A runner is down when his forward progress is stopped, would he also be down if he didn't want to go forward anymore but the defense was pushing him? I envision a crazy rugby-like scrum, again like a 4th and 1, but both teams going in the opposite direction. Kind of hilarious really. The next time the "they should let him score" thing comes up, that's what teams should plan to do. I mean, if it's legal.

Like I said, slow week

I believe that the play is dead as soon as he gets touched after downing himself, so it wouldn't have mattered if he got pushed.

But what the Eagles failed to do was to have the presence of mind that Chiefs were going to do something like this, and either push him out of bounds or into the EZ while he was upright/running.

That's what I meant. Push him to endzone before knee goes down or carry him so that knee ankle foot are all above ground.
