NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 17: NFL Other Games

I am thoroughly impressed with this young man. What a class act.

If the Bengals players are having these discussions, imagine how the Bills players feel. All these guys were deeply affected by what they witnessed.

three days later, why do we still care about the 5 minute thing? the league screwed up and the players fixed it. big deal.

Dawn Aponte is probably going to be the one who falls under the sword for that one.

Anyway, if they’re not going to resume the game, let’s just get on with the forfeit, give the Bills their L, the Bengals their W, and move on with the schedule.

From Fakebook

All of the league's governing documents and policy manuals state that a suspended game (other than preseason) must be played to its conclusion. The commissioner can terminate a game, but only if it is completely clear of competitive issues, which is obviously not the case here. This game will have to be played in full. The question is when will that happen.

People can't get over stuff or want to be mad about something

The league continues to deny it, specifically pos Vincent. I'm ok that it happened due to extenuating circumstances but why continue to lie about it like we're all f*cking stupid? Just say it happened but thanks to players we arrived at correct decision.

Anyway, what really matters is the league had their sh*t together with the emergency medical plan that ended up saving a life, which is obviously more important.

I know this is a minor thing to get upset about, but I don't know where else to post this.

Ben Volin is (supposedly) a professional journalist. And in his tweet he puts words in quotation marks, which, as a journalist, are supposed to be the exact words that someone said. But those aren't the words Zac Taylor actually said.

From the video of Taylor's press conference, which is what Volin poorly screenshots, Taylor said of McDermott: "When I got over there, the first thing he said was, 'I need to be at the hospital for Damar, and I shouldn't be coaching this game.'" Volin has Daboll saying he "can't" coach, when what he actually said was he "shouldn't be" coaching. It's a small distinction, but they don't mean the same thing. It was widely reported everywhere, so Volin could have checked it easily or fixed it. But he just posted something lazily transcribed and not checked in any way.

I know trashing on Volin is easy, but the guy is getting even the little things of his job wrong. It's no wonder he's getting the big things wrong too.

im commissioner of my fantasy football league, and the 2 teams playing for superbowl have josh allen, joe burrow and joe mixon

Its 30 point lead right now for team with Allen and Mixon, so its not as hard of a decision for me.. but i went onto Reddit and there are some commissioners that I do not envy on any level as they try to figure out how to handle the superbowl in their leagues where the games are virtually tied with each team having 1-2 players in this game

Some leagues have large prize pools, mine is more of a friendly family league at $250... but leagues playing for thousands of dollars, yikes that is not going to be a fun situation to navigate. Lots of different theories in Reddit about how to handle it, glad my situation is a bit more clear since the game isnt really close
I’m in 2 pools, 1 keeper league and the other normal. Both finals are effected by the Monday night game.

In the normal pool my brother is behind the other guy but he has Burrow and Higgins. He’s projected to win. I thought it’s best to just take Burrows and Higgins average points and use those but my brother said the most likely thing will be that they split the money ($1400) and both names go on the trophy.

In the keeper pool I don’t really care. I lost in the semi-final by 1 pt. Thanks Nick Folk for your 0 point effort that week. Also like to thank the NFL for not reviewing the TD toss from Herbert to Allen with under 2 minutes in the 1st half of that game. Called out at the 23 yd line but replay shows his foot was never out. Should have been a TD for me. What makes it even sweeter is that I would have smoked the guy I would have played in the final.

ugh... yea fantasy football can be a cruel b****

I'm pretty good at it, in my keeper league I won 6 times in 10 years and made final three 2 other times in that span

This year I had a really awesome team, but just had some of the worst luck I can ever remember.

I finished in 9th place (out of 10) this year with this roster:

I drafted Hopkins in round 11 and kept him in our 1 Reserve/Injury slot on my roster for 6 weeks. Jalen Hurts was a wrecking machine this year, but then got injured for the playoffs of all times

This was one of the more frustrating years I can ever remember in fantasy football... and on betting games too, in both the @Dingleberry and Draftkings... its not been a good year for me on the gambling front lol

How many teams in the league? Both of the ones I’m in are 14 team leagues and a lot of the guys from your team would have been picked within the 1st 4 rounds of our draft. By the later rounds of our drafts we are picking backup RBs.

In my keeper I picked Justin Jefferson when he was a rookie so I’m keeping him for the next 10 years or so. Made a big trade last year for Herbert and Kamara. May not keep Kamara next season as I drafted Miles Sanders who was a stud this year and did a lot better than Kamara. We can only keep 3 players.

10 teams

I got Keenan Allen and Jamar Chase from waiver wire, their teams cut them because they were injured for awhile but weren't placed on IR, so they couldnt use the IR/Reserve spot. I would have kept them on my roster personally, but i wasnt complaining when i saw them coming back from injury and pounced. Since I was in the back of the pack this year, I always had good waiver priority (not used to having high waiver), so I was able to scoop up some good players

My receivers sucked at beginning of year because i drafted RB in rounds 1-3, so i was constantly working every week to strengthen it and got lucky with Chase and Allen, but unfortunately i missed the playoffs so Jamar Chase didnt really pay off.. i only got 1 productive game from him back from his injury

I had the 1st overall pick in the draft (i hate having first pick)

This was my draft, had quite a few busts but your team is never the same by the end of the year anyways

i also lied, i thought i got Hopkins in round 11, but i got him round 9 haha.. it was worth it, he was solid when he came back week 7 until Murray got injured

How did Daboli get into this?

Man if you’re going to pick nits with other folks at least make sure you’re not guilty of worse. Putting quotation marks around a minor paraphrase is minor league compared to your blooper there.

Ditto. What the fuk does Daboll have to do with this?
