OT: Matt Ryan

Yeah, that's right, it's the QB that plays defense... that's RIGHT, forgot!

Matt Ryan is a decent QB, LOOK at his career stats.
He gets beat up here because of the SB(Which I watched, and was screaming about).
He was pretty good at BC B4 being a good NFL QB. Is he TFB?NO, WHO is TFB Though?
One guy, that isn't Actually crushing it WITH TWO #1's right now.

Brady NEEDS that guy he can count on in the middle to be successful, Gronk, Welker, Jell, Dola...

Cade Otton is becoming that guy, but he's young, and not totally trusted.
I actually like Cade, he's pretty good, reminds me of a young Gronk, a little smaller though. We'll see, Picked him up and played him( had to, Nygoku hurt and Schulz hurt/bye).
Dude rips the seam, TB should use him more.

He's getting Tom's attention though, look at his targets....Tom doesn't throw it to guys that aren't where they're supposed to be.
Sorry, I don't talk about him.

Guys.

You're up 33-0 at halftime.

That's AT LEAST five scores.

You can run the ball the entire second half without throwing one pass, and win. There's literally not enough time on the clock for the opponent to come back.

Ryan's a good quarterback, a typical quarterback. Mac complains to the sidelines about the play calls.

A winning (and unusual) quarterback ignores the called play and tells his offense, "We're running the ball. We're winning this game."

This reminds me of a playoff game where the Texans went up 24-0 at Kansas City, and proceeded to do everything they could to blow it and lose, instead of doing everything they could to preserve it and win.

Bill O'Brien was their coach. Why would you want THAT guy here?!

It wasn't just Ryan. How about the running back going OOB on a run with a little over 2 minutes left with an 8 point lead, saving Minny a TO and keeping their 2 minute warning?
Of course. I was just joking. Honestly I'd blame any defense that can't hold a 30 point lead.

This century, instant prolific offense is a reality.

Manning, Mahomes, Cousins, Allen, whoever.

Intelligence, practicality, common sense, risk minimization and playing within your capabilities all protect against any opponent going off.

And make winning possible.

The same thing occurred in the SB vs Atlanta. All they had to do was run the ball or let the play clock run down on each play and the Pats wouldn't have had enough time for the comeback. As it turned out the Pats had lots of time left at the end because they wanted to make sure they'd have time for an onside kick if they got a TD but didn't make the 2 point conversion.

Instead of stupidly dropping Matty R. Back, they should have just run it into the line, between the hash marks to line up the field goal.

Or just kick the FG on 2nd or 3rd down. Make it, and there's no way we can come back.

I give credit to Belichick for trying to coach guys up. But Bill overthinks it. You need proportion between details and common sense.

People who are trying to absolve Ryan of his rightful share of the blame (and it's a Very large share) need to re-watch the 2nd half after the Clots kicked a FG to go up 36-7:

Every time Ryan dropped-back to pass, bad things happened... Every. Single. F ucking. Time.

I don't care that Taylor's no longer available, you simply give the dam ball to whoever's your Next Man Up, like Bill & Matt were forced to do with Strong & Kevin Harris... Add more reverses & double reverses too, so the WRs become involved...

But they kept dropping him back, and kept watching the sacks he took, the incompletions he threw, and the clock Not F ucking Move.

Clowns.

Stop the presses this sounds like you saying Bill and Patricia did something right

I watched the replay on NFLN of the 4th quarter.

Ryan dropped back to pass on 1st & 3rd down.

Idiotic. Stupid. Matty P. cannot be called worse than their OC.

It's close, I'll admit that.

BTW, Ryan's now being benched in favor of Nick of Time Foles, who's played like 2 snaps all season long...
