This game pretty much ends the season because playoffs are gone.
If I was in Kraft's seat this is my next move. Have a meeting with Belichick, tell him the coaching staff **** with no OC and DC and sons and friends running units isn't working. Tell him he hasn't impressed at GM. Then say he can either make some changes or not next year and prove he has some sort of plan with our cap room next year and Mac in a final make or break year. Belichick can run the team however he wants next season but his ass is on the line
If they don't show improvement (and I mean a double digit win season with us beating some good teams and a comfortable playoff spot) then just blow it all up. Tell Bill he can retire or he can be fired, get rid of the rest of the staff, don't pick up Mac's 5th year option and tell him we are looking for someone else and if he wants any future here he has to earn every bit of it in training camp and in the season and that he's not a priority unless he nuts up and forces the issue. Then look for a good GM and a good coach combo and tell them they will have the same autonomy Bill had and that they have 3 years to make the playoffs and 5 years to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Man this really made me, I can hear all the screeching from badk in the days when signing on, I imagine that’s the same noise going on in Matt’s head when thinking what to call next.
