Game Day Thread Official Post Game Day Thread- Pats beat the Jets

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

This is one of the most absurd things you've ever posted.

Jones has already surpassed BOTH in terms of Won/Loss record, Completion percentage, TD passes, Y/G, and Passer Rating.
LOL. Well, @DaBruinz , you gotta give @PatsFan2 extra credit for defending the honor of Tommy Hodson and Hugh Millen. While we're at it, let's give Bill Belichick credit for winning more games as Patriots Head Coach in 2022 than **** Macpherson and Rod Rust combined!

??

Why OG?

Onwenu and Strange are our guards hopefully for the next several years.
The Pats definitely need a 1st or second round OT in 2023. But, my suggestion if I were Bob Kraft, would be to hire the best OL coach possible. Dante Scarnecchia should be in the NFL HOF for everything he did to help make TB12 the best ever.

Are you going to guarantee than neither Onwenu nor Strange ever get injured. We need a backup OG.

James Ferentz <-------

While the Patriots DID draft Chasen Hines this year, they need more than OG on the depth chart.
I also didn't say they needed to draft the OG early. Just someone who will be better than Ferentz as the #4 OG behind the Reserve OG/OC. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an OC/OG who they picture as a replacement for Andrews after 2024.

I'm not sold on Hines and Russey being the guys to take over the Karras/Ferentz roles going forward.

I was hoping that the Pats would bring in the guy from Liberty. There was another guy, I forget if it was Georgia or NC State.. @BaconGrundleCandy probably remembers..

I'm rooting for the kid, but Zappe's in about the best spot he could be in. Had a bad second half against Chicago but Mac made everyone completely forget about him and they'll still be chanting his name this weekend.

How's the saying go? Leave them wanting more?

He's got potential and he still hasn't even had a full offseason the way Mac has to get stronger, and he's under contract long enough where they're in no rush and he could very well push for the job if the next nine weeks don't show much promise for Jones. Hopefully, it works out, but if it doesn't, at least we're not sitting here panicking about who they could take in April...yet ;)

Here's how the saying goes, Ian: "The backup quarterback is the most popular guy in town."

So you don't have confidence in BB to hire OL coach but you do in Stopwatch Bob?

Crazy thing is the playoffs are still in the picture with the way the league looks this year
Yep. 5-3 is realistic. 6-2 is a tall order which might be what is required

I believe if we beat indy and jets lose to buffalo we would be a current playoff seed

Those are the facts!

Those are mostly observations of things Jones accomplished with some subjective opinion/speculation mixed in.

"high completion %" is subjective. Just list a percentage.

Specify the Marino rookie records broken.

"Thrived" is highly subjective

"Failed coaches" is highly subjective and partially wrong - Patricia & Judge were successful enough coordinators to get the opportunity to fail as head coaches. And there is plenty of evidence the offense is being well coordinated this season. I certainly like the personnel/formational usage more than 2021.

"Offensive scheme was changed, not conducive to your qbs skill set but rather the players around him"

This is not true. Jones is on record as saying he is comfortable with the new offense and that concepts he likes have been implemented.

Again, those are the facts! Look em up!

Patricia and judge are here becuase pertinent to the NFL rules, patriots don't have to pay thier salaries. And the familiarity with the organization. Not for thier genius ability

Go look at hunter Henry's numbers this year compared to last..

Not comparing Mac10 to Marino at all.. I simply said he he came in and did what no other rookie qb did since Marino in 82. And does his play of late show he's comfortable?

I'm A fan of Mac but im also a realistic fan. I'm not here to conjure up excuses just going with the facts! Use the eye test..

Tom > Bill
No doubt TB12 and BB are GOATS. Why is this still a thing after witnessing what is happening in Tampa where there the inmate is running the asylum? Everyone thinks that Bill has too much on his plate being HC and GM. That pales in comparison to the responsibilty TB12 has in Tampa. In TB12s first year in he was Player and Assistant GM. That has evolved to this year where he is Part time player, GM and puppet master Coach. This has created a lot of jealosy with the other players and disfunction on the field. Can't you appreciate that BB maintained checks and balances as TB12 wanted more control and the ability to choose his teamates? Tom + Bill = Greatness.

Cole Strange's performance has been fairly steady. But you could really see what the loss of David Andrews at Center meant to the line as a whole on Sunday. The Jets defensive line came into the game looking fabulous since the beginning of October piling up sacks, pressures and QB hits. Jets DT Quinnen Williams is the real deal on the inside.

I hope Andrews is cleared to go against the Colts.

I'd love to give Andrews an extra couple of weeks... But this is a conference game vs a team with a similar record, and tie-breaker advantages will be at stake here; so...

Yeah, especially coming back from a concussion at a position that basically requires helmet to helmet contact on every single play. If they think they can get through Indy without Andrews, do it. Make sure that guy's brain is right before he goes back out there.
