That is the other thing with Zappe. When you live by the play action, you die by the play action. If the Pats cannot run the ball effectively, they cannot sell the play action and that has been a large part how Patricia has been getting separation for the receivers with Zappe to allow him to make plays. You take away the play action and Zappe doesn't look nearly as good.
I am not sure why he doesn't use play action with Jones. Probably because he trusts him to get the ball to the receiver in tighter coverage. Unfortunately, with Jones' current demeanor, I don't know if they can trust him. Against the Jets, they will need to use more play action with Jones.
But despite what the Zappe crowd thinks, the team is still behind Jones.
