Bledsoe backed up Brady.

Zappe outplayed Hoyer and is # 2 QB just like Brady was. Big deal poor old Mac has to watch. The "Best Pats QB" remains to be determined too
Hoyer is on the IR so Zappe is the #2. Not sure he would be if Hoyer was healthy.

You’ve basically covered all of the bases in this post. “Open it up some,” I.E., let him air it out a bit more, followed by “either way they're going to rely on the run game against one of the worst run defenses in the league.” I like the way you work. Either way, you’re going to be right. I have been defeated.
The ran the ball a lot against Green Bay (167 yards), they ran the ball a lot against Detroit (176 yards)... either way they could have thrown more and scored more. Could have won the Packers game if they passed more on those final two drives, could have scored more and worked on Zappe's red zone prowess against Detroit.

He threw 15 times in game one, he threw 21 times in game two, but despite his 104.7 QB Rating and 75% completion rate... you think Zappe throwing 25-30 times is the death knell for the Pats. Solid take.

Hoyer is on the IR so Zappe is the #2. Not sure he would be if Hoyer was healthy.
IMHO, if Zappe plays an efficient/proficient game today, I feel as though he should take the reins as the official backup to Mac. Hoyer; while having immense knowledge of the offense has absolutely no upside, and simply isn’t a good QB at all.

For Mills the red throwbacks and pat patriot on the helmet should be the regular home jerseys...

+ 1 my friend... !!!

That's already happened unless Zappe completely falls apart.

Blitzed 7 times in Miami for 2 sacks.
Blitzed 9 times vs Baltimore for 3 sacks.
Blitzed 9 times in Pittsburgh.

The Bears will blitz Twinkle Toes Mac next week and their defense is pretty good. What should save Jones is that the Chicago offense is a dumpster fire.

Your link doesn't work. But in Miami, it wasn't Jones' fault that Trent Brown let a defender run unabated to the QB. Most QBs would have been sacked in that instance. In fact, the other sack was because of poor blocking too if I remember correctly.

But Jones drop back and passed 32 times and the Dolphins blitzed seven. That isn't a lot for a blitz happy team like the Dolphins.

This isn't Jones' fault. You can't blame Jones for the fact the offensive line gave a safety a free release to the QB on a blitz.

Neither is this with the OL giving a free release to the DE to Jones.

And you didn't list how many times the Steelers sacked Jones. I mean they blitzed two more times than Miami and Jones dropped back and passed three more times than he did in Miami. So they must have had at three sacks on Jones. What was that number again? I think it rhymes with hero.

Now let's go to the Baltimore sacks.

Here is the sack by Patrick Queen. This is a clear mix up by Strange and Harris. Strange initially pulled off to block Queen and then pulled inside to get the inside rusher and missed on both. Harris picked up that rusher, but Queen got to Jones unblocked.

In this sack, the pocket collapsed way too quick and looks that Jones couldn't find an open receiver before the pocket completely collapsed. Unsure if this was on Jones. But it poor pass defense by the o-line either way.

I couldn't find video of the last sack.

But that is the difference between making bold claims using your biases against Mac Jones to form an opinion rather than actually analyzing the plays.

Zappe backed up Hoyer and nearly beat Green Bay.

How can anyone not be pleased with what Zappe looks like so far? Not to mention that Patricia found his good playbook and the OL started blocking again.

Watch that play ^ again. Right before he snaps the ball Mac is staring to the right, he doesn't scan the field or he would have seen one of the best blitzing safeties in the AFC creeping up on the left. He saw something he liked on the right and never took his eyes off it, then rushed to snap the ball. Not recognizing pre-snap pressure was most definitely on Mac.

This was a clear miscommunication with the vets and Strange, a rookie mistake he has rarely repeated since.

Harris whiffed on this block.

Watch that play ^ again. His checkdown Rhamondre is wide open up top, Henry looks wide open right in front of him. The O-Line gave him all they could against serious pressure from a great front. He has to get rid of that ball and take what the defense gives you.

Your analysis isn't exactly correct and Mac wasn't playing well, they were losing directly because of Mac's turnovers and decision making.

I was high on Mac as a prospect, I was high on Zappe as a prospect. Before the Raven's game was finished or Mac got hurt I was saying he needed to be benched and that was assuming Hoyer would start next week. He wasn't playing well. There's no parsing that.

You do not blitz every play.

You do not play man to man every play.

Smart teams mix it up and confuse QBs. Just because the defense did not blitz on a sack that doesnt mean that the blitz did not set up the sack.

You are putting way too much on Mac on the first play. Even if saw the blitz, he would have assumed that Trent Brown would have saw it too and at least made an effort to block the rusher. He couldn't have known that Trent Brown would completely screw up his blocking assignment. Trent Brown literally block no one on that play. He stood there doing nothing (he did initially try to double team Ingram and then immediately disingaged when Ingram moved inside). If Jones saw the outside rusher, he obviously thought Brown was going to at least try to pick him up.

And the Copeland sack. I said that Mac Jones could share the responsibility of the sack, but Cole Strange barely blocked Calias Campbell and pretty much gave him a free rush. Campbell caused the sack even though Copeland got the credit. For most of the play Strange was running behind Campbell. Campbell forced Jones to step up in the pocket and he ran right into Copeland.

Again, the Dolphins blitzed less than they did either game last year. And both sacks came on o-line messed ups where the defender wasn't even blocked. You can't blame Jones for that.

How many sacks did Pittsburgh have?

And once again, I showed you four sack plays where the o-line failed Jones. In three of them, they let the defender rush Jones unblocked.

But this is what you said:

"even if he's a little limited by an injury." It's fine, we just disagree.
I do not know the degree to which he would be limited.

Nobody cares about last season but the Mac fan club.

Jones gets rattled when you blitz. Agholor took away an INT right in the Pitt DBs hands. Blaming the OL and Patricia will last just so long.

Psst! I am just blowing your ridiculous assertion that the Dolphins know that if you blitz Jones he wilts by stating the fact that the Dolphins blitzed less against Jones than any other time they faced him. They knew that and then they decided to dial back the blitzing?

I get it you have an irrational hate for Mac Jones which makes you make irrational arguments with no actually facts backing you up. But your act is tired.

Everyone in the world recognized that when we went into the season that the o-line was in shambles. They were awful. And they were awful at the start of the season. Neither Wynn nor Brown tried in Miami. Strange looked like lost rookie. They have vastly improved over the last month, but that doesn't change how awful they were.

You might want to try to analyze the plays rather than just throwing out blanket statements based on your own biased opinions.

Jones clearly struggled at times this year thus far (although he has played great at times too), but your analysis that he just wilts when they blitz him is not based in reality.

Nowhere in Tune's post does anything having to do with race appear.
The only time "hillbilly" and "race" are in the same sentence is at Talladega or Winston-Salem. At least that's that tiny baby Jesus told me leaning out of that car with the cougar on the hood.
