Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

He has been a obnoxious for quite a while now, more so when he does the Pats games
Seems like he was really good at first. I would have only heard him doing pats games over the last year or so . I have not heard a lot of him more recently. Obviously he has been lobotomized into another NFL stooge

Well technically not a start, I wonder how he would have done if he got starter's reps. His first start will be next week. After the Tua stuff Hoyer is sitting 1 game, which was usually Pats protocol to begin with.

Actually a bit intrigued for next week, Lions defense is bad bad.
Intrigued as well, because the Lions are leading the league in points at the moment

See. This is a game where you can blame some play calling as unposed to just sucky play

In his first year he was excellent, very analytical. I guess he must’ve been too smart for the average fan because in year 2 he suddenly became another stooge. The execs must’ve told him to quit it with the brainy **** and just say lots of “oh wow” and “look at that” and “here’s a guy”, that’s what the average 50+ year old NFL fan wants to hear.

Proud of this team.

The Pat's were not winning with Manicotti Jones. The game was lost on the last drive before OT. Zappe has some ZAP in him. I cannot fault him when he was thrown into a huge game like this on no notice. I really liked what I saw on Frank.

So you wanted Zappe to throw on 2nd down?

After all the success we had running the ball? Are you joking?
That's what a great coach like Pete Carroll would have done!

That's what they did on 3rd and 5 and it almost got picked off. Please stop.
I would of run on third down and give me 2 yards and I probably run on fourth too. I texted my brothers and said "Draw play and go for it on fourth we lose if we punt back to Rodgers and I want the ball in one of our backs hands to win it not Zappe."

The play calls zappe got and strategy shouldve been what Mac Jones got in the first three games instead of the deep ball 50/50 ball junk. What zappe got is what Jones got last year. They expanded the offense too quick. Not to mention Hunter Henry is back in there because Smith got injured. Hunter should always get more snaps than Smith. Bourne is back because Myers is injured. It is a travesty Bourne was benched.

All these beginning of the year decisions led to this debacle. I imagine wynn is benched and cannon is stepping in. I'd guess Myles is benched soon. You might see Jonathan jones back at slot once Mills is healthy.

I think they'll be 4-4 shortly.

The runs were the right call. It's good 2nd guessing because it didn't work but at that stage, you can't put the ball in Zappe's hands...too many bad things potentially could happen.

I didn't hear you complaining when we were running it down their throats in the 2nd half.
I almost think we should have run on 3rd down too, that way if we don’t get it but we get within 1 yard we might go for it. We def should have hard counted the punt snap, a 5 yard delay if game would have been inconsequential.

Really proud of this team. We didn't come up with the win, but proud of the way we competed and played.

Our coaching staff did a great job today, we were outmanned.

Tough loss, but we'll be better for it.

Let's discuss!!!
First: What is going on with Aaron Rodgers' hair?

Green Bay uni's cool, classic, professional

Ours not

We needed this game, with the Bills & Jete winning

Pats' drive with four minutes left in regulation:

WHY ARE WE PASSING ON SECOND DOWN?

because we're stupid

Pat's first OT drive, third down:

RUN THE BALL.

This is overtime. Belichick chose a long, slow death.

Run the ball on third down. The way we effectively did, with Zappe sliding back and handing off to the side, not just running it up the gut.

Bill likes to play the percentages, but under the circumstances we need to win this. At this venue, against this team.

A touchdown wins the game. A field goal does not.

Go for it on fourth down. Worst case, a game ending turnover, or giving them great field position. Worth the risk.

If we don't make the first down after running it, we'll need maybe two or at most three yards for a first down. We could pass then - either short, or go for the whole enchilada deep, trying to catch them off guard. We might even get one of those phony PI calls like they made against us.

Rodgers? Crosby? You really think they're gonna choke?

I obviously vehemently disagreed with both crucial play calls - which both unsurprisingly failed.

Last place behind the Jets! Maybe we should ask their advice on how to be pleased with moral victories?

The biggest frustration for me is Myles Bryant. I'm glad he's no longer returning kicks but wish I didn't see him in the slot any more. He's just not cutting it.

I thought I would never see the day where I disliked a player as much as I did Elandon Roberts, but Bryant is closely approaching that level.
He’s Jordan Richards.

I think from this point forward Mac better bring his A game every single week or Zappe is nipping at his heels to put him on the bench… This kid showed a lot of composure in a very difficult situation and actually move the ball a lot better than Mac against tougher competition in a tougher environment….. Hope his ankle heals well so he can come back and prove himself
That’s a little ridiculous on a few levels.

The pats moved the ball great last week. Most yards per play in the NFL. The turnovers killed them, but not the ability to move the ball.

Zappe was asked to do extremely little. Hand it off, take advantage of wide open receivers on PA. We tried a few traditional passes and I think he was actually extremely uncomposed. Frantic internal clock. Look at how many successful plays we had on passes that weren’t under center PA.
And by the way, one completion in OT on third wins the game there. Haven’t seen the film, so maybe that was on the receivers.

If Zappe were even REMOTELY close to nipping at Mac’s heels, they would have let him run a real offense with the game on the line. They didn’t.

It’s likely while getting the backup up to speed last week that the team did not have the resources to extensively prepare for Zappe to play nearly the entire game. He’s obviously raw, and on the road doesn’t help.

All that and we still had a chance to win. We just couldn’t stop the Packers rushing offense late in the game and that set up Rodgers for some easy big plays.

He’s Jordan Richards.

If this game gets bryant on the bench it willl be well worth it. But then again the 2nd game against buffalo last year didn’t get it done, another one he was a major factor in and repeatedly exploited

With the "soft" part of the schedule coming up, it might be a good time to see what Zappe can do. If Hoyer goes on IR, Gilbert might be a good short term pickup , since he spent time on BB's PS.
