We didn't lose that because of one specific play that was so obviously the wrong decision and would likely have still led to a loss even if it paid off.

Not only that, it's just the wrong strategy regardless of who the QB is (within reason). You make the 56 yard field goal... congratulations. Tom Brady is now down by less than a field goal with a whole minute on the clock.
