If Davis lasts to #21, I don't see how in hell BB can trade down and not just take Davis. He sometimes gets a little too cute trading back. I'd also be very happy with WR Chris Olave at #21. Gonna be interesting to see how many of us will be cursing on draft night or if this will be one of the rare drafts like 2021 where everyone is relatively happy with the picks.

If we move up to get Jameson or Stingley, there may be a small thermonuclear explosion in Hershey, Penn., Captain Stone’s homebase.

If Davis lasts to #21, I don't see how in hell BB can trade down and not just take Davis. He sometimes gets a little too cute trading back. I'd also be very happy with WR Chris Olave at #21. I think if last year, before the draft, we had with a shot at these 3 players (Mac Jones, Zaven Collins, Jaelen Phillips) and had a poll, over 90% would have picked Jones. And if we were told Barmore would be available for a trade up, we would call it a draft.
I'm pretty sure we won't have a consensus pick (or top 2 picks) like that this year but when the dust settles it'll be a player(s) the majority will like.
Looks like Jordan Davis is leading the pack so far but you never know which, if any, unexpected player will drop, ala Vince Wilfork or Mac Jones, when it's a no-brainer. That player could be McDuffie, J. Johnson or Karlaftis. I don't think the majority will lose their $h!t if one of these drops to 21.

I'm looking at several of the top mocks right now and they are all over the place. And in the non-mock rankings, there are many players ranked much lower than first round. For instance, Olave and Karlaftis have very low rankings in some of the top 150.

In other words, there is really little consensus this year.

What passes for consensus is a simple averaging of the vearious mocks, which means some people have guys as the #10 player picked, while other have him in the 2nd round.

This is looking like total madness.

Be prepared to see a player that BB thinks of highly taken at 21, and we'l be shocked that he likes Karlaftis or Lloyd so much while he bypasses on Olave or Jordan Davis.

Many mocks have Drake London falling to 21.

If London is there, I can't see how we don't snag him.

Why would Green Bay jump one position? Are they thinking you want the guy they want? If that's the case, why would you trade?

My fear is that this recipe here will fill the team with more Wilsons, Uches, Perkinses...etc. - the kind of guys you have nothing good to say about.

Thus, my hunch is the Pats know 1 or 2 (of say, 5) players they really want and aren't afraid to move up to get them.

One has very little to do with the other.

If we had more picks this year, especially on Day 2, then I might be more amenable to a trade-up... And we have even fewer picks next year, so sacrificing some of what we do have and creating a multi-round gap in the young, cheap, talent acquisition process isn't the way I would go.

If #21 isn't traded, then I would have no problem with Any of Davis, Karlaftis, Jermaine Johnson or McDuffie... All of them are exactly what we need, and at those exact same positions of need... If Trevor Penning is still around I would put him in that category too...

Yes we do need another WR... just not with our very first pick, even if they're ALL still available at the time.

Williams still has big injury question marks due to ACL surgery and will likely need to sit out his rookie season. Burks has drawn comparisons to Jhonnu Smith and he has struggled to produce in the Pats offense.

I see Olave as a perfect fit for the Patriots offensive system with his route running. I feel he would hit the ground running just like a Deion Branch but with better overall technical and athletic attributes. What Mac Jones needs as a young QB is a receiver who can reliably get open quickly and I don't see a better route runner in this draft potentially available at 21.

I agree but am not an Olave fan - I might be wrong. Everything you say is true, AND Olave is light and is easily muscled at the LOS. I do not think he is quick or strong enough to be a Day 1 pick. Also had Wilson across from him so he was beating CB2 all the time - college CB2s are weak. Have to be very careful in these type of situations. Prefer Metchie Day 2 - Metchie does everything Olave does and has worked with Mac. Prefer Dotson as well like @ChrisR2223 suggests.

Picture this: the guys ahead of you don't want the same player as you, but they're getting calls about their pick, and those other teams do want the same guy as you, so you throw a little bone at the team in front of you to deal with you instead of someone else.

I think Alec Pierce will have a longer better career than London Drake.
He makes just as good as catches and he is more athletic.
Another guy I like is Romeo Doubs.

So I’m claiming my Wide receiver binkies.

Number 1 receiver in this draft is Jameson Williams Followed by Trevon Burks then I have Johan Dotson. One of those three should be the first receiver we draft.
I wouldn’t hate Alec Pierce in the late second early third. But I think he’s more of a fourth rounder.
I love the speed on Tyquan Thornton but he is a project.
However you can’t coach speed.
