This will keep a great safety tandem together for the next few years. Both Phillips and Dugger have the skill set to play on the LOS, at LB depth and deep. It is a KEY skill set that most teams would be happy to have one of.

My only concern is in his comparison to Patrick Chung. It might be TOO on the mark. Like Chung, Phillips isn't big guy for a guy who plays a SS type position. I can't help but remember that Chung literally beat himself up into retirement I'm just hoping Phillips' body can last that long. Maybe the thought was that in a year or two it will be HE that replaces DMac in the less physically rigorous deep middle

1. DMac is a huge hole to fill and I'm not sure Philips or Dugger are elite FS's, more like 2 good box safeties.
2. Mills is an avg CB2 which is already good value. If he moves to FS then the Pats have a red alert need in man-corner DBacks which means extend JC Jackson asap but also still need multiple other man corners.

i feel the same about mills. Hopefully we can resign or at least be able to franchise jcj and land a solid #2 corner to allow him to slide over to fs.
