CP had hands of stone.

No.

Hmmmm............. not sure he was that bad. Maybe out of proper WR routes but out of the backfield as a dump-off he does fine. And can then shine in the open field with missed tackles.

2021 highlights below.

The ATL offense is not the same as the NEP one.

He'd be asked to pass protect as well here. Blitz pickup etc.

Possibly run different routes.

Sure. CP could of caught more dump offs here. Doesn't mean he should have when James White was a 10x better option

CP had a good year with us when we had James White. And Pats have had a RB by committee approach anyway. And RBs are cheap. We could have kept both, and would be benefitting. I guess can’t always keep everyone but if we can keep Bolden for $2m (2 yr $3.7m) we could have kept Patterson instead for $3m

Yeah I really appreciate the way Billy & his staff had the team prepared to face the Indy Clots last Saturday…

No we can't keep everyone.

Based on what he has done offensively, in pass protection and as an almost-core STer you could argue he brings just as much value to the team as CP would if not more.

I’ve said before it’s too hard for me to say for sure that BB is the GOAT head coach meaning we know for a fact he is a greater head coach than Lombardi, Brown and the rest of the coaching legends. Other than rings there’s not really a compelling argument saying yes or no. And rings are a team accomplishment more than an individual coach accomplishment.

With that said if the Pats win the Super Bowl this year then BB will have done something that has never been done before. Coach his team to a Super Bowl championship with a rookie QB. And knowing they were 2-4 at one point. If that happens then I’m ready to say it. He will have changed the game showing it’s really ok to go wire to wire with a rookie QB with winning in mind. That is a historic accomplishment and a compelling argument to make me ready to say he is GOAT without a doubt.

If BB wins the SB this year, in the context of losing HoF talent and in turn-around time, it will go down as the greatest rebuild in professional sports history.

Only other time that comes close is 1988-1990 Edmonton Oilers.

Thanks for the reminder… ??

That rebuild was almost ENTIRELY brought to them by that ****ing crusty old ****ing idiot Harry Sinden. We ****ing WIN the 1990 SC if he doesn’t make the Ranford & Courtnall for Moog trade…and possibly the ‘91 Cup as well…

We don't make the 90 Cup w/o Moog.

91 we weren't getting past Pitt.

Ranford (& Lemelin) would’ve been our Goalie in 89-90, so…?

And we won the first two games of the ECF vs Sh!ttsdirt; having Ranford & Courtnall would’ve won us 2’of the next 5 games, there’s not a doubt whatsoever in my mind.

Bolden is at least as useful.

We lost in 5 games and scored a total of 7 goals. Goaltending was not the issue. Speed and playmaking were. Team was cooked after G1

.. and we aren't beating Pitt either. Same reason as above and Cam is playing on one leg since Ulf the Ass checked him in the knee during G3

Cam beat the crap out of him here. Just hate to see that…

Was that when Neely’s injury happened? I had forgotten…

But you gotta admit, Ranford would’ve done a better job in net that series than little Andy Moog did…

You guys are re-awakening my Penguins Traumatic Stress Disorder. They were just too good after Hartford gifted them Francis to go with Mario. Pitt and Edmonton blocked every chance of Ray B getting a cup as a Bruin.

Yea 1991 G3 was when Ulf the Ass checked Cam. Cam basically was like Gronk in the 2011 SB. He could barely skate but still played.

re: Edmonton. I honestly don't think it would have mattered. Yes, Ranford won the Con Smyth and was outstanding but Moog also had an outstanding 1990 playoff run.

Edmonton was still a loaded team without Wayne and was a faster, deeper, more skilled team that ours. Messier, Kurri, Anderson, Simpson, Tikkanen, etc...So much speed.

I don't have the same feeling about Moog that series I do about Tuuka vs STL. Now THAT was ****ty goaltending when it mattered most.

Yep. Pitt was another team with superior talent than us. For every Ronny Francis, Paul Coffey and Bryan Trottier Pitt picked up Sinden acquires Rosie Ruzicka and Brent Ashton....although the Oats trade was decent. Aside from Bourque our back end was way too slow...
