Just curious-would BB and Pioli do this?

It looks like Cleveland will finish with a decent record, or maybe even make the playoffs(especially with their easy schedule ahead)-so it looks like Cleveland's pick to get McFadden is all but out of the picture.

If that'll be the case, IF Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips offered to trade both of their #1's to you guys for your SF#1(assuming it's a Top 5er), would BB/SP accept it?

Personally-I would rather get a deep threat WR to replace Glenn and a blue chip CB with those 2 picks, but McFadden is STILL very tempting.

They would do so with a smile on their face.

The Patriots have been notorious for trading down, so the answer is yes with one caveat. The Patriots would request from the Dallas Cowboys both first round draft picks and Marion Barber.

Good god, I hope Cowboys are that stupid:rocker:

Depending on where the Cowboys picks end up being on the point value system compared to the Patriots' pick, I think that's exactly what the Patriots intend to do.

It very well could end up being the Cowboys 2 First Rounders and their 2nd rounder, if it end up being a top 5 pick.

Its stupid to even act like BB/Pioli are predictable. For all we know they really want McFadden.

Jerry Jones has quite the ego. Also Darren McFadden plays for Jerry Jones alma mater, so his emotions may play a factor in the Patriots draft trade extortion.

Jerry Jones might be known for taking risks, but including a good RB in a trade for another RB that hasn't taken an NFL snap is an insult to him.

I still remember after they drafted Quincy Carter, they showed Jones in the War Room, and he was so pleased with the pick he had made.

And then he told Carter that they both had the same birthday. I swear to God the way he said it, he was so amazed, he acted like it was Fate that they draft him BECAUSE THEY HAD THE SAME BIRTHDAY.

It was unreal. Thank God for BB is all I have to say.

That would be a hoot. Goodell would be sooooo annoyed.

..............but yeah, if they are sellin', then Bioli would be buying

I actually discussed this with Mike Reiss the other day.

if the Pats end up with the #5, they would trade it for say the #20 and #23 in a heartbeat. but this will be tough to do.

more likely is trading down for a lower 1st rounder this year + a 1st rounder next year

Funny how the Cowboys in the past traded up for Tony Dorsett.

They didn't have backs like Julius and Marion then. I could see him trading the two 1sts and maybe trading Barber in a different deal.

Yeah, I'm thinking 1st rounder this year, 1st rounder next year, and rights to Marion Barber.

MB3 will be an RFA next year. Terrence Newman has one more year on his K-you saw the $$$$$$$$$$ Nate Clements demanded, so TNew could be a possibility in a trade scenerio, assuming Jerry doesn't want to shell out this much to him.

You have to give up talent to get talent. If the Cowboys want the next Tony Dorsett ........

you need to read up on the draft value chart. the pick alone is worth the 2 cowboy picks. there is now way in hell they would include a stud RB who is due to be a RFA

If the Browns make the playoffs, the #4 pick would be worth more than both Cowboy picks. In fact even if the Browns don't make the playoffs that pick might not be high enough for the value to be enough.

That's all the more reason for the Patriots requesting Barber in a trade. What are the Cowboys to do with three running backs?

probably the same thing the Patriots do
