I woke up still buzzing from the fever dream that was last night's game.

What a freaking wild ride it was. Shame on everyone who was *****ing about not throwing enough passes.

That **** was magical. I wish they hadn't thrown a single pass.

He made a nice play, let him enjoy the moment.

The coaches shouldn't have put him in a situation to fail.

If a player sucks, like NKeal Harry sucks, it's not worth wasting snaps to pass to him over 7 other better pass catchers. But yes kudos for finding a niche as a blocking WR that isn't worth paying anything beyond mininum salary for.

.

I was as annoyed as anyone by Harry's brain fart, but:

1) He shouldn't have been back there in the first place, and

2) You're insane if you don't think he was absolutely instrumental in the win.

He wasn't instrumental. There's a concept called value over replacement player. I'm not seeing that a TE3 or TE2 or minimum salary fullback couldn't do the same thing. It's like giving overly enthusiastic praise for a mentally challenged student.

Some thoughts (didn't read the entire thread so sorry if I am redundant)
  • I will be the first to admit I was one of the people who thought this was a ridiculously stupid game plan while the game was going on. I felt the Pats needed to pass the ball at least a bit because they couldn't sustain drives or score running the ball most of the game. I was happy I was wrong.
  • I think in many ways, the Pats showed less respect for the Bills playing offense with one hand tied behind their backs than if they ran up the score to be 50 points. For Belichick to run an offense like he did last night, he had to truly believe the Bills could know they could put 9 and even 10 in the box and still not be able to stop him and that Josh Allen would make stupid mistakes.
  • This is a game that will probably crush the Bills for the season and potentially long term. If and when McDermott is fired in a few years, they might look back at this game as the turning point of his Bills career for the worse. From what we saw last night, he is completely losing it and so is some of his team. The Bucs should send Belichick flowers today. I think Brady and the Bucs will win by three TDs on Sunday.
  • Adrian Phillips has made himself a lot of money in the offseason. Dugger out and he really stepped up in his absence. Hopefully he is ok. From his Tweet, sounds like his injury isn't serious or at least only a short term type of injury.
  • McDermott blew it. He should have taken the wind in the fourth quarter rather than the ball to start the second half. Sure, conventional wisdom is to get the ball first in the second half and it gives you one more possession than the other team. But he knew that odds were the Pats were not going to score a lot of points whether they had an extra possession or not and having the wind at his back in a tight game in the final minutes of the fourth quarter might give him an advantage.
  • Give credit to Mac Jones. I think most QBs especially a young one wouldn't take it well if the coaching staff told him before the game that he would be handing off the ball all game and won't make more than three passes all game. He seems to have taken it all in stride and was willing to do whatever it took to win even if he did very little.
  • Anyone doubting the brilliance of Belichick just needs to look at last night to see they are wrong. There might be one or two other head coaches in NFL history who would say that they are not going to throw the ball at all and we are still going to win. Belichick looked at the weather and the opponent and thought way outside the box on the best way to win is to limit the offense.
  • That said, he loses points for having Harry returning punts. Without that muffed punt, this game would have been a relative blow out.
  • The Bills are paper tigers. They still really hasn’t beaten anyone this year. And even with the weather they showed they can’t hold up with a physical team that aren’t even trying to pass the ball and telegraphing that they are going to run the ball on every down.

Glad to not have to listen to those freaken horrible announcers again this year. And the unbearable commercials for things I've no interest in.
