However poor we drafted from 2014-2020, it’s been completely nullified by the selection of Mac Jones. Yesterday, he made some throws only elite pro bowl QBs can make. He may already have the best touch pass or pretty close to it. That first touchdown to Henry only a select few can make. That rifle to Bourne in double coverage for the TD showed arm zip. His decision making and pocket presence is already very good to great. He turned Hunter Henry into an elite red zone threat. I could only imagine the numbers he would put up every week if we found him a game changing weapon like a Jamar Chase. The only thing holding us back from winning a super bowl in my opinión.

the GMs of the jaguars, jets, 49ers, and Bears will eventually be fired when Mac Jones leaves the other QBs drafted ahead of him in the dust.

With our run game, not sure we even need a top 10 WR... but agree it would be nice to have.

Dugger, Uche, Onwenu in 2020 was a respectable haul. The 6th round Onwenu is obviously the steal of their picks. I have been high on Dugger, and he keeps getting better. Uche will be fine with time. He will be a mainstay once the older vets retire or move on (likely next year).

The first 4 picks of the draft this year were as good as you can get. Not only is it "Thank God we got Mac instead of the other QB's," but Thank Bill we didn't trade up for Mac. Had we done that and given up our 2nd round pick, no Christian Barmore! He is a stud.

I still like the Ronnie Perkins pick, and I believe he will have a presence after his redshirt year. And of course Rhamondre in the 4th. A battering ram who is an excellent pass catcher. He is a pain in the arse to tackle. Once pass protection is cleaned up, he is a #1.

Someone help me with Cameron McGrone. Did he get cut or is he on the PS?

Injured. They didn't expect him to play this year.

With the way this team is playing right now, they can play with anyone. By the end of the year, Mac is goig to be lethal and I don't think it will be an offensive weapon keeping them from winning.

Kudos to Belichick for drafting him
I would hope so. He needed a QB and Cam Newton obviously wasn't the answer.

The chemistry with Mac and Bourne has really developed. So thats 3 receivers- Henry Bourne Myers that Mac has a dependable connection with. He and Agholor will continue to work to get better. A lot of the problem with the deep ball was that Mac was getting hammered earlier in the season and had to no time to throw. As he keeps gaining experience, the ol and run game clicking, the deep ball w. Agholor will get better. The one other offensive improvement that will make a difference is getting Smith more involved. Smiths injuries have hurt that but hopefully he'll stay healthy and Pats can integrate him more in the offense. If those 2 things develop over the rest of season this offense could be very lethal- w/o a flashy wr.

I agree, and there's also opportunity to develop that connection with Smith and Stevenson. Bolden has been great out of the backfield too. I don't see how with Mac making good quick decision, and getting protection, that someone won't be open on pretty much every play.

Plus it's absolutely ridiculous that Mac is over 70% completion rate halfway through the year. I feel like he's going to set some kid of rookie completion percentage rate if he keeps this up.

And don't forget our backs as receivers too. It looks like Mac can handle the mental complexity of having 5 or 6 weapons on the field at once, and making the right decision on where to go with the ball.

Future pick, basically given a redshirt year. Every one should want him to work out given the current state at ILB. Heavy hands, tough as **** and will take on OL'm all day but he's athletic and very smart. Not much experience in coverage bc of the blitz scheme he came from in Brown's system but he's more than capable. Not a strength but I believe he could be a plus player on all three downs.

Checks the boxes Bill likes but a little more potential in coverage than we're used to. Again everyone should be excited about that pick.

Thanks. I remember being intrigued by him but he fell off my radar.

I will add him to my Ronnie Perkins list of anticipation for next year!

Is he only at 69% right now? I thought he was over 70%, he keeps playig games like yesterday he'll end up there. But yes, he is on pace to have one of the best rookie seasons ever, only behind maybe Justin Herbert.

Yea both could infuse some much needed youth at the OLB/ILB spots. Tough to learn a new position (Perk) and have a RS year like McGrone as rookies but I like the value where we got them and both can play.

I had some doubts about his big play ability earlier in the season, but I’m not sure what’s really left to doubt. If what we’re seeing is some lucky run with perfect circumstances, or he’s hit some ceiling, then we still have a very solid quarterback who you can build a contender around with his rookie deal. But more likely, he looks headed in the other direction of continued improvement, as evidenced by advanced stats and grades, as well as the eye test.

I’d say I’m now even on the fence about picking him over Lawrence in a theoretical redraft. Coaching doesn’t fully account for the gap we’ve seen thus far. Stuff like this happens in the draft all the time, the can’t miss prospect who misses and the “lower ceiling” prospect who winds up being great.

I get that Lawrence has the physical skills, but I think it’s funny that Mac was scrutinized for playing at Alabama while people act like Clemson was some rag tag team carried by Lawrence. Both of them were on stacked teams with little predictive value for an NFL transition.

Mac has beat out Lawrence in QB competitions before. I'm not saying that's a good predictor of NFL quality play. But he's obviously the faster processor and higher IQ QB. With that short, middle and long ball accuracy, I'll take that over physical skills any day of the week.

Injured reserve. He's supposed to be very good.
