QB: C/C+
RB: C+. Tbh I was expecting more against that run defense which looked every bit as terrible as I expected.
OL: B-
WR: C-. Overall they were all right but I knocked this grade way down for the Bourne fumble and how it almost flipped the game the other way. No excuse for that
TE: B-

DL: B
LB: B
Secondary: B+. Would have loved to give this an A but Mills.

Special Teams: B+. Great day for Gunner.
Coaching: C-.

you're selling the coaching way short if you think they weren't a large part of this comeback. Mac wasn't on point today and they still managed to stay in the fight until the defense stole the lead. Or perhaps you think Trevor Lawrence skipped breakfast yesterday and that's why he was off balance most of the day.

C- is too low... a sub .500 team travelled cross-country to play a 4-2 team with a red hot QB coming off a bye. Left the stadium with a win.

not just that, left the stadium with a win despite the QB being a little off his game. Jones didn't hurt us, but outside of a handful of plays he didn't carry us, the team structure did. Everyone did their part to ensure that the team won. That goes back to the coaching.

Agree with all except the coaching, I think I'd give them a B+, west coast road game and they had a good game plan. A little, better execution from some of the players and we win this one comfortably.

You consistently let one egregious play or series affect your grades way too much. Emotion sways your judgement. Only really bad coaching was the entire offensive series where Josh failed ending with a 4th down at the goal line.
STs coaching was excellent.
Defensive coaching was very good at least; held wonder boy Herbert in check except for the typical sadly expected Mills failure at game's end.
I like Herbert and think he's the real deal. Pick 6 was on his receiver.

That and better play calling at the goal line.

Defensive coaches get an a . Offense is d at best. That’s a poor defense we faced and we should’ve been able to put up at least 30 on them without the aid of d and st. They were handed 12 pts by the st and d (pick 6, int and punt return to start 2 drives in charger territory ) so you can really only credit the offense with 15 pts. D and st stole this one for us, we have to be a lot better and creative on offense if we’re going to compete for a playofff spot.

Bourne's fumble and Herron's penalty took 6 off the board, and a couple of bad play calls another 6. So I'm not quite as worried on that count.

Coaching gets a B. Move it to an A- if they aren't jet lagged because Bill opted to stay and rest Sunday night instead of red eye flight. We will know how that looks on Sunday vs Panthers.

Ahead of this guy, everyone predicted that their defense would be able to give Jones some difficulties. Now it's all about 'Oh Jones took a giant step back.'. To me, he faced a defense doing some new and fairly confounding stuff that stymied him during the first half and then he turned it around in the second half.

i don’t think jones took a step back, one shaky game is understandable considering some of the pressure he saw. They do have a line that can get after the qb. My only gripe was the playcalling. many including myself thought we could exploit their run d. the biggest blunder was 1st and goal from the 4 and 3/4ths of the plays are passes despite what’s mentioned above. And a lack of te screens, block and release type creativity (they tried it once i see when henry was held). Part of the reason we were playing catch-up until the pick 6 bailed out the offense.

There was a stretch there where I felt Mac was in a hurry to get rid of the ball unessecarily which lead to badly placed balls/timing issues. Something bumped Mac off his game for a little bit around 3rd qtr. However he didn't fold - held him composure and held his role down.

Growing pains but you love to see the rest of the guys kick, punch, claw their way to a W, despite it. This is one of those wins where the team starts to see who they are.

Shout out Myles Bryant sticking Keenan Allen on a huge 3rd down and breaking up a pass. Kid can ball.

Uche played more and better. Maybe he will come around after all. Joejuan Williams played 25%. Set the edge on the 75 yard run but the inside guys didn't make the play. I'm not as hard on Williams as some of you. He is a good tackler, quick to the ball, and probably as good as Mills. I still hold out hope for him also. Don't want to give up on Wino. Some of those old backer's won't be back next year and he is good special teams and pass rush with a good motor. I like Bryant. Barmore my new favorite.

Coaching is low, should be at least a B+.. some of the deficits for this team are due to injuries, Mills is a safety filling in at CB, Johnnu has primarily been used for blocking, fortunately they have the depth to fill in a lot of holes. Then they travel cross country to a team that is considered very good. One big factoid was as a team they controlled the time of possession 35 to 24, there were several 3 and outs for the Chargers late in the game.. then there were two int's of Herbert...

They could have won by more, but at the end of the day a win is a win..

Agree, it was a great defensive game plan and as Bill always does, he beats young qb's and makes them usually look bad.
The only thing I'd like us not to do going forward is run bolden on 3rd and short...too predictable and it never works...especially if you have Harris and Rham....run them!!!
I think B+ is the grade...

Yes for me that sequence near the goal line bumped down the coaching grade as well as having Mac throw all over the place and he was clearly having an off game even when they're facing the worst run defense in football, and having Bolden run up the middle with predictable results. I wouldn't say it's a knee jerk reaction to one play in particular but for me it depends on the play and the impact it has to the outcome of the game. I gave the running backs an F in week 1. That's not saying they were horrible all game but what happened near the end of the game was egregious and actually lost that game, therefore that's an F in my book.

I am not sure I would call the chargers red hot, before the bye they got clobbered 34-6 by the ravens.

I always find it amazing that its Bill that beats young QB's and Bill that makes young QB's look bad when the pats win, when they lose or a young QB lights them up, its the crappy players fault.
